Trip Report Again? Seriously?? Live-ish

Yup. Its only been 3 weeks and we’re headed back to the World.

3 weeks ago was our daughter’s 21st. Now, Princess weekend. @MeffysMom is doing 10k and half and me and my old man knees are just doing the 10k. Sadly, no daughter this time. She’s doing all the learning at college.

No previews, just reporting as it happens or as close to that as I can. Which means… welcome to BWI airport!

Definitely not first in line waiting for the rental car….

I am confident that rental car processes are perhaps the least efficient thing around.

Hmm… not quite the compact we reserved.

You know, when they don’t even mention the ‘free upgrade’ until you are walking to the car…. It’s like I ordered a dole whip but I got a kitchen sink. I really just wanted a dole whip.

But, now… at about 12:30am… we are here!

And loving the view from our room at Saratoga.

Now, to get some sleep!!

Evidently there is something wrong with us because despite our late night arrival, we are both up and ready to rock at 6am this morning. We even both did a little work for school before getting ready to head out.

I know that for me, this is a sorely needed respite from work. It has been an extremely busy couple weeks and I’ve got a couple extremely busy weeks coming up. Plus the past couple days have been really crappy in addition to busy. Very glad to be here and not there!!

Same view (hard to believe it didn’t change over the past 6 hours) but by dawn’s early light.

But as the masses head to Pandora, we stick with earthbound adventure.

Delayed opening, but trains are running through, so we don’t think the delay should be too bad.

I found a new friend as we are waiting for E:E to open up.

He appears to be a friends of Olaf. Giving warm hugs!

Not expected to have Everest visitation rights until 8:30 or later, it’s time for plan B.

Considering that it’s just about 40 degrees, lots of good animals out on the safari.

African dogs were out and about, but we didn’t get a good picture.

Giraffes on the other hand were both romping.

And posing.

Wildebeests were also out and active and most of the elephants were out, but not the little one.

Big cats, though..

And the lions were all out and very interested in something below the Kopi rocks

Sitting at my desk "working" and I was watching a live feed on TikTok of someone on safari. I saw the wild dogs running around for the first time. You had to be right before or after him!!

I’ve always enjoyed this show and while Zootopia might be great, I’ll miss it.
