I'm not going this year between Thanksgiving and Christmas but it is the best time to go. We have gone the week after Thanksgiving for the past four years and it is WONDERFUL. The crowds are light. The Christmas Decorations are up. It is incredible. The weather is usually cooler (jeans are good and carry a light jacket for night). It can get cooler than you think at night though - two years age we had to wear our winter coats because it was soo cold. Be sure to get tickets for Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party. It is crowded but fun.

We went the week after Thanksgiving in 2000 and it was great. There were hardly any lines to wait in. The longest wait we had for a ride was between 5 - 10 mins tops. The weather was fantastic. Not too hot, not too cold. Perfect.

I think it is the best time to go. When we called and asked when was the best time to come during the holidays, the folks at Disney said the week after Thanksgiving was the slowest time of the year.

I went to WDW three times in a years span (May 2000 - April 2001) and it was definately the slowest the week after Thanksgiving.

If you go during the holiday season, you might want to get tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas. It's a special event and only folks who have tickets to it for a specific nite can get in. We did it and it was really fun. It has the best Christmas Parade around.

Anyway, that's my two cents.

My wife and I will be there from Nov. 30 - Dec. 8th. We went last year the week right before Xmas and it was insanity. Actually the first few day were great but by the weekend before Xmas you could hardly turn around in the parks. We're hoping for a bit lighter crowds this time.

BTW, for anybody who has done MVMCP in early December, just how crowded is it. We went to the last night of it last year and we very dissapointed at how long the lines were and how big the crowds were. It was fun to see it snow on Main Street. I'm hoping it's not quite as bad earlier in the month because I'd realy like to do it again without the insane crowds.

We went last year the week after Thanksgiving. The weather was wonderful and the lines were short. We only occasionally had any wait or bothered to use Fast Pass because lines were so short.

We also went to the MVMCP on Dec 1st (I think) or 2nd. It was crowded as far as waiting for the special items, like getting your photo taken. But the lines for rides were very short.
The Christmas parade was great and we didnt need to get a spot until it was heading down towards us. We rode a ton of rides due to short lines and it was our last night at Disney. My other family members went to see all of the special christmas shows.

During our week, we didn't wear long pants once because it was so hot! I guess the November weather can be unpredictable.

I'm going Thanksgiving week, are the crowds light then

We have been a couple of time Thanksgiving Week. For the most part the crowds were great up until Thanksgiving day. From there on through the weekend it was pretty heavy, but not so much that it was unbearable. Nothing like the last few days leading up to Christmas.

P.S. Thanks for the info VillianFan!

I think it is one of the best times to go. You get the Xmas decorations and special events without the big holiday crowds. The weather is also nice then. Go for it!!

We will also be there November 30 to December 8 to take advantage of the smaller crowds and all of the holiday decorations. We will also be attending Mickey's Very Merry Christams Party on the first. I can't wait.

We'll be there from the 30th till the 7th. Its our 3rd Christmas visit. Its really the best time to go. On top of all the special celebration stuff, and the Disney Magic, there's the Christmas magic. We weren't able to go last year and Christmas acutally felt different.

We've been to the MVMCP in the first week before and the crowds are not bad. The attraction lines are much shorter than during the day, but like VillianFan said, the lines to have your picture taken can get long. We usually try to do that first.

If you do go, make sure to see Cast in Bronze in Epcot. They play for the lighting of the tree (among other times) and are simply amazing.

Also, if you're going to go, avoid the second week of Dec this year. That's the pop warner superbowl and the parks are def more crowded than the week before.
