Well another thread has prompted me to wonder... what will WDW/Disney be like after Eisner? Who is taking over after Eisner? and what changes do you hope to see in the company/parks/etc?

I for one hope to see reduced hotel rates but i'm not holding my breath for that one. I also hope they completely revamp the Disney channel and show some old Mickey cartoons and whatnot.

Roy Disney

I for one hope Roy Disney comes after Eisner! He SHOULD be next in line because he is actually related to Walt and he can make the Disney World a better place. Eisner Is wrecking the place!

amen to the Disney channel hope! I remember in the mid-90s or so when they would play the Disney vault stuff late at night with old episodes of the Mickey Mouse Club and old-time Disney movies like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, etc. etc.

It's almost impossible to associate the Disney channel with Mickey or Walt nowadays. They should rename it Hilary Duff network or something.. (no offense to Hilary)

hear hear! I remember waking up at sleepovers and watching old disney stuff and it was so corny but I loved it. I wish they would show them again so that I could see more of them. I wasn't really old enough to appreciate them when they were on.

to beauty_Belle27: are you kididng? or is that a legit question? If it's legit he's the CEo that's pretty much... well... ruining the Disney name and the level of excellence they've achieved. don't get me wrong at one point he was great and was really good for the company and the parks but that was at one point... not now. If you were kidding just disregard everything I just said. ;)

Iger is the front runner for the position. If Iger gets the job and Eisner stays on the board - as is predicted by most - then things may not change much. I think Disney needs a strong shake up like back in '84. What Eisner has done for the company overall may match or exceed what Walt did for the company. But that doesn't mean he is the right man for the job today, or in the future. Eisner over the past few years has been more concerned with keeping his throne then using his creative abilities.

I just hope they find a person that will concentrate on his job more then how to keep others from taking it, that is were Eisner started to slip. It is true that power can smear your vision.

Is Iger part of the company now or is the head of another company? Where is he coming from? But I completely agree with you :ynx that there needs to be a major shake up.

Iger, I think, is in charge of ABC. He is the only one inside the Walt Disney Co. that is up for the job. I hope Steve Jobs gets it. I think he would do a swell job of running the company, look at Pixar. And, he would probably inviter Roy back.

The thing I want to see most after Eisner leaves is money that is put forth for creative endevors. Both in movies and animation, but also the them parks. The past couple of years, I feel, that there has not been much in the way of creativity. Many of the rides are great, but they are not as full and decked-out like they used to be.

I to thought Jobs would be a good candidate myself until I looked into his history. He has nearly driven his own company into the ground on more that one occasion because of his I’m right and everyone else is wrong attitude. Disney needs some fresh blood in the driver’s seat. But chances are we are going to end up with Iger.

I disagree, I would rather stick with Eisner then have Steve Jobs. While yes it would be a celebrity candidate, he hardly has the creative ability that Eisner has. Steve Jobs didn't create Pixar, George Lucas concieved Pixar and Jobs purchase majority of stock in the company when it went public. Something along thoughs lines.
