After Christmas through New Years events

I am currently getting close to the 6th month mark for dining reservations and know how busy the parks are at this time of year. We go a lot so it is not a big deal to us if we don’t get to do everything (this is our first time over Christmas break), but what I was wondering is...what type of events and activities do they have during that time? I’m sure there is some special event/parties for New Years Eve, any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, when is the info usually released for anything?

Welcome!

I personally have never been that week either, but I've been a couple times in early December and the parks are usually pretty busy during the days, and then tend to calm down in the evenings and night time. It can always change though, and with Galaxy's Edge opening at the end of summer, that could attract more people waiting for Christmas/New Years time to plan their "once a year" visit to let the dust settle on that + see Disney World at Christmas.

It looks like the official site has some info on more of the general activities and shows planned around the World for New Years: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/new-years-eve/. Regarding them announcing more specific events and parties, that could be within the next month or say maybe. Just last week they started to announce some Epcot events for the holidays and also the new firework show at Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Christmas Party events.
