After 52 Years, Roy and Patricia Split

Maybe I haven't been visiting the right websites, because the impending Disney divorce caught me completely by surprise. Roy Disney and Patricia are calling it quits after over 50(!) years.

According to the Los Angeles County Superior Court filing, the Burbank couple, who have been married 52 years, have been living apart for an unspecified amount of time.

The couple have four adult children.

According to the divorce papers, the couple agreed to treat the divorce as a collaborative law case, which means each will try to cooperate to reach a settlement out of court.

Roy, of course, is the son of Roy O. Disney, who along with brother Walt co-founded what is now known as The Walt Disney Company. Roy E. Disney has made a name for himself with his creative work with the company, his boating, and his activism as an investor and shareholder, twice being a major factor in shaking things up at corporate headquarters.

I have to wonder what happened to bring this about after so many years of marriage. Maybe Sumner Redstone got a hold of Roy?

All kidding aside, it really isn't my business and I wish all involved well. I admire both Disney and Redstone from a business perspective, and both have helped bring a lot of entertainment to my life.

Move it to where you feel that it belongs. I felt that it was news board worthy. That man has over a billion dollars in assets and quite a bit of it still has to be Disney oriented. I realize that this affects the man more than the mouse, but....

I hate to see anyone go through a divorce, but seeing a couple that have been together that long go through it, OMG, it's just not something that you even consider. I wish them both peace and happiness, even if it's not with each other anymore. Maggie

I agree with you, I just meant it doesn't really have anything to do with the parks, so it'll probobly be moved to another forum like the Walt Disney Company news area. However I could be wrong, I'm not a mod.

Yea, it is a shame to see things like this happen, hopefully everything works out for the best for both of them.
