Hey Y'all! We are planning our October Honeymoon for WDW and I have ran across a very short post about the Afrian Safari Trek; "3 hour hidden gem" is how the post describes it but doesn't give much information. Has anyone had experience with this or can give me some more details? Thanks!!!!

Roam with wild animals on this 3-hour safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park (separately priced tour). Wild Africa Trek offers Guests the perfect opportunity to explore the Safi River Valley and discover animals of nearly every variety in an uninhibited, natural environment.

The Journey
See yawning hippos and hissing crocodiles just 10 feet below as you make your way across a shaky rope bridge, secured to an overhead track with a safety harness. Ride in a rugged safari vehicle over an open savanna teeming with native African creatures—from towering giraffes to powerful rhinos.

On your journey, your knowledgeable guide will share little-known insights on the majestic animals on view as well as the general operation of Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park.

And as if your trek weren’t memorable enough, you’ll receive a complimentary souvenir as well!

Complimentary Photo Services
A trained photographer will take pictures throughout the adventure—a service that’s included with your tour. While you enjoy close encounters with the animals of the Harambe Reserve, the photographer will capture all the action and excitement.

At the end of your expedition, you’ll receive a photo code that you can use to access and download images taken during your Wild Africa Trek experience.

Prices
Wild Africa Trek is $189 to $249 per person, plus tax. Prices vary based on season.

Please Note: This tour requires a separate admission ticket to Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park.

We went on the Africa trek in Nov of 13. It was amazing, we are a family of 4, 2 adults d-25, s-13.
We had a blast. We enjoyed the walk, loved seeing the hippos and crocs up close, the bridge was fun, and then a smaller more personal ride in a truck to an outside pavilion to have a snack/lunch of African themed foods.
Our guides were top notch, they answered any questions we had, were informative, and took any pictures we asked them to, and a whole bunch on their own of us.
I would absolutely recommend it.
I recommended it to a friend at work who has actually been on real safaris in Africa and I cautioned her it could not be nearly as exciting, but when she came home she thought it was well worth the money spent.

We went on it last summer. The tour was amazing. The food was great - we had the b'fast that was offered for the first morning tour. Our kids chose their pictures on the bridge over the alligators for the Christmas card this year. Jay and Karen were awesome, informative, wonderful CMs. Jay spoke about his trips to Africa. He hooked me up with a primate specialist at Animal Kingdom. My students will be recycling cell-phones and raising money to help Disney help GRACE save the mountain gorillas in the French Congo for Earth Day.

We highly recommend it.
