Affleck Drops Out of Glory Road
19-Jul-2004
(TheStarOnline) -- Ben Affleck has dropped out of the cast for the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced basketball flick Glory Road over an apparent pay dispute.
Affleck was supposed to act as Don Haskins, who coached his college basketball squad to become the first all-black team to win the NCAA national championship.
The film was written by Chris Cleveland, with James Gartner directing.
The official word is that Affleck opted out of the project due to scheduling issues. But rumours are circulating that Affleck left after failing to come to terms with Disney over a profit-sharing deal.
Apparently, Affleck was seeking a bigger percentage of the expected gross profits, beyond his US $5 million fee, a percentage that Disney was unwilling to agree on.
