AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G --- Thoughts on the lens?

AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G



Looking into purchasing a prime lens for the Nikon D5000 for low light shots at the world. Any thoughts on this lens, as it is the only focusing motor prime lens available for DX camera's it's not much of a choice other than going with a manual focus lens.

Its fast. Its sharp. Good basketball lens for in the lane, under the basket work. Much cheaper tan the 1.4

I have heard really good things about it, but I have no first hand experience with it.

That said, I really like the Sigma 30 1.4. All of the same qualities Dave mentioned, plus it's a 1.4. I'd try out both in store, and see which you prefer.

That is, if you can find the 35 right now...
