advise needed for dinner p.s.

Hello! My family of 3 will be going to WDW in March. We just made reservations for Cinderella's table for breakfast that my 6 y.o. daughter will love.
But my question is for dinner.

We would like to make one more reservation for a character meal at dinner time.

We are staying off-site at the Wyndham Palms Resort. We are only doing the MK one day and will be doing the breakfast. So

How do we do a dinner somewhere else, (i.e. Chef Mickeys, or Liberty Tree Tavern.) if we are onsite and will be doing a different park? What would be the best dinner if we go to Epcot or Animal Kingdom? Are any of the resorts close to travel to for dinner? We will be parking at whichever park we go to that day.

If you are only in the Magic Kingdom one day you may want to try the crsytal palace for a late lunch or dinner. They have all the Winnie the Pooh characters. The food is buffet style but pretty good. My kids love it more than any other place we have eaten in all the parks.... Of course they love Pooh and Tigger also.

We usually only do Character breakfasts...if you are already in a park just hop on WDW transportation and travel to wherever it is that you have PS.

I hear that both Chef Mickey's & the Liberty Tree are very good.

If you have a park hopper ticket, you can go to a park during the day and then you can hop to another park to go to dinner. You can also leave any park you want and go to a resort to eat and then return to the park later.

My recommendation with a 6 y.o. would be to try chef mickeys or the Crystal Palace. You may also want to reconsider only spending one day in the Magic Kingdom with a child that age. It is by far the most kid friendly park (this also depends on how long you trip is).

Crystal Palace

I think anyone with small children should be happy with the Crystal Palace. The environment is upscale and relaxing for the adults but also offers the informality of character appearances which will make the children happy. If the park is busy make reservations although I have had pretty good luck with getting a table without reservations. Enjoy your trip!

There's nothing at Animal Kingdom during dinner hours. There is a Rainforest Cafe outside their gate, but I've not been too impressed with it the times we've eaten there, and there are no characters.

At Epcot, we love to eat at Garden Grill. You'll see Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. And the food is very good.
I'd also recommend the Biergarten in Epcot. Not a character meal, but my 5 1/2 year old loves it. We go there every year. They have a polka band and a big dance floor down front. Alec dances and we eat! Then when the band stops, he eats. We always ask for a table near the band, and have been accomodated every time (6 times).

If you decide to have dinner in Magic Kingdom, I'd throw Liberty Tree Tavern in there as a good meal choice. All you can eat, but homestyle, you don't have to leave the table to get food, which we really like. Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale are at this one.

Most character meals are breakfast, so your choices are limited on the places to pick from for dinner. Looking at my 2004 Birnbaum book, all of the character dinners are priced at $22 adults/$10 child except for 1900 Park Fair, which is $24 adults/$11 child.
