advice please: beginning or end of November (how are crowds this year?)

It's been 3 and 4 years since I was down there at this time.
We have the opportunity to either take vacation the first two weeks of November, or the last of November/first of December.

My question is, how quickly do crowds die down after Thanksgiving?

Either way, it would be about a Wednesday to Wednesday trip.
I would prefer to go the second choice (so as to be able to see Christmas), arriving possibly the day before Thanksgiving through the following Wednesday.

I've seen every week of both November and December, but only as recently as 2004. For me, the week of Thanksgiving was bearable (especially with only 2 of us); how are the crowds now?

I'm torn, because I've been spoiled by the two most recent trips being mid October with minimal crowds; but I really want to see Christmas next year I know decorations were up early this year, and the parties started around the 12th, but Processional didn't start until the 23rd.

I've probably answered my own question  , but any thoughts?

Well as I'm sure you can assume, Thanksgiving week is very crowded. The couple weeks prior and the few weeks following (before schools let out) are less crowded, especially during the weekdays. So you did kind of answer your own question.

We went this year Nov 28th to Dec 5th Wed to Wed and didn't find the crowds bad at all. The first week of December you will see a little pick up as that is when the Pop Warner Superbowl and cheerleading competitions are.

We went on Thursday and Friday to MGM then AK and it was great. My kids road Kali 5 times in a row without having to get off. We road Everest 3 times without much of a wait. Same for MGM not much of waits at all.

You may want to avoid MK on Friday and Saturday as that is the days they usually tape the Christmas day parade.

We went to Epcot on Monday and found it a little busier than in the past, and then Tuesday did MK and it was great, I didn't think it was crowded at all.

As you can tell I'm a fan of that week, in fact probably will be going back the same time frame next year.

We were there Nov. 5-12th and it was pretty packed. From what the cast members said, if there is a slow time of year, people know it and are there. We always go this time of year and this is the first we ever experienced it. Super soap weekend coupled with new england fall break. We are going to choose another time of year.

We were just down Nov. 26 - Dec. 2 and the crowds were very minimal. We did MK in two days, half the park each day, and that worked out great. From talking to CMs, they all seem to agree that the week after Thanksgiving is one of the least crowded, another one is the week before Christmas. Hope you find a week that works for you, the Christmas decorations are the best!:xmas:

thanks everybody!
I am surprised westie, that your week was so crowded!!

I think we are going with the later week (the day before Thanksgiving until one week later)...I think. I keep going back and forth!! :ROFLOL:
I just can't go so close to being able to see Christmas in full force, just to barely miss it!

I just hope those Thanksgiving crowds die down by the weekend, so that at least half of our trip we will see those minimal waits.
