Advice on resort for party of 10

So I'll be staying in Disney this fall (oct 8th-15th) with a group of 10 people. This includes a 5 year old and two at just under 2. We love wilderness lodge but figure nows a good time to try elsewhere with the work being done etc. We're leaning towards Animal Kingdom but have a few worries.

1st being the size and shape of the buildings, with a group that big and with kids, i imagine would be a hassle if we ended up near the ends of either side of the "U" shape. Seems as though it would be quite a walk to the lobby/bus stop. Now one way to avoid that would be to get a pool view room because we could only be in one of those nearby sections.

My 2nd concern is with the busses stopping at Kidani first, do you think theres any chance that a group of 10 would have trouble all fitting on the bus at Jambo to head to the parks etc? Last thing i want is for some of my party to have to stay back and wait for another bus.

Are there any other things i need to consider before booking a big group at Animal Kingdom lodge?

I can't fully answer for the busing situation. All I can say is the smells throughout the resort are intoxicating. I have never been to a better themed resort any where. The savannahs just add to it even more. With kids, I think they are going to absolutely love it. Yes, it is a bit farther out, but you are also a short ride to AK, DHS, and Epcot is not too bad. When going to MK, just plan 10 minutes earlier.

The walk to and from the rooms can be exhausting. The buses do seem to take forever, but AKL is worth it. It is a must stay!:D

As far as the buses are concerned, you always have the opion of waiting for the next bus so you can all ride together, but that can b a pain, especially if you are waiting a the second stop. (One of the reasons we always stayed at All Star Sports when we stayed at the value resorts was for the buses during times when the three shared a bus. Which is a good reason to stay at Pop, or even better, Wilderness Lodge!

thank you all for your help. My party and I are so torn because we all love the look and atmosphere of Animal kingdom Lodge, but we've grown accustom to Wilderness Lodge and the convenience of being able to take the boat over to our favorite park (magic kingdom). As i said, we LOVE Wilderness Lodge but just figure if we're gonna try something new we might as well do it while WL is being worked on. We're also considering dropping down to moderate if we decide AKL isn't for us while traveling as a big group. I think either of the port orleans resorts would be the leading candidates if that were the case.

As for AKL, all i hear is how it is amazing and a must stay. I am mostly worried about these things because of traveling with a few young kids at ages 5, 2 and almost 2.
