Advice on a nice offsite hotel

We stayed in the Polynesian for the first time last year and loved it. We are planning to go back again this October, but just out of curiosity, I priced a stay at the Radisson, and it was so much cheaper! Is the Radisson a really nice hotel, or just average? What I would like to know, does anyone know a hotel that is about the same standard as the Polynesian, that is not too far away from WDW? I will check out the prices, and see if we think it is worth going back to the Poly. Of course, if we don't, it won't be a Disney hotel, but we will have to decide what is more important.

These are the places we have stayed already:
Howard Johnson Maingate East - didn't like this much.
Orange Lake - quite nice, but a bit dated.
Windsor Hills condo - very nice, new and comfortable, but a bit out of the way.
Polynesian - fantastic, we loved it there, and none of the other places we stayed can compare!

Thanks for any advice!

Which Radisson? If you mean Celebration, it is okay. I've stayed once, and think they have one building set up for business guests (internet, SleepNumber beds, nice linens and duvets) and others set up for family stays (bunk beds, etc.). The pool, hot tub were nice enough from what I remember, decent enough looking hotel but did not spend much time there. Think they do have some activities on property for kids at times. Did not try the restaurants.

There are also lots of reviews on tripadvisor you may want to check out.

Close to WDW (driving yourself) though there is road construction right there at 192 and I4. Never used the shuttles, we drive.

No, it is not the Polynesian, and certainly does not have monorail access to the parks, EMH, DDP and all the other great WDW perks. But if your savings (even with the very Orlando-common resort fee) are THAT much better than staying on property, you could use that $$ for more character meals and souvenirs. FWIW.

We stayed 1 night at the Buena Vista Suites in April, it was a nice clean hotel. The staff was great and it even included a FREE breakfast buffet each morning. The buffet wasn't just some bagels and juice either, it was hot food, fresh fruit , basically something for everyone!

if your looking for a hotel outside of WDW that can match the standards of the Polynesian, you have 3 clear choices.

1- Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress
2- The Peabody Orlando
3- Marriott World Center Resort

Thanks Disney4648 - this a big help. Funnily enough one of my friends came back from Orlando a few weeks ago, and she and her family stayed at the Marriott World Center Resort. They loved it and would go back again.

We have already booked for this year, and we have chosen the Polynesian:D , but it is expensive, and we have decided to try some new places in the future.
