Advice for Ohana

Would love advice! I have a party of 7 for Ohana dinner next week. I was able to get a 4pm reservation for 6 people - I've heard we can add one more person to that. A family member got two separate reservations for 7:30pm - one for 2 people and one for 5 people. We would prefer the later time but we want to all sit together. Would we be able to request that? We are trying to decide which time to keep. Thanks!

Can you call the restaurant?

Usually if you have two tables in a crowded restaurant they won’t be able to seat you together because it’ you’d need a much bigger table and that’s limited

Where did you hear you would be able to add one more person to the reservation? There is a feature on MDE that sometimes allows you to add guests, but I've clicked on it and been told I can add "0" guests. 'Ohana is a very popular restaurant and this is a busy time of the year. They would probably try to accommodate you, but I wouldn't count on going to the podium, telling them you have 7 instead of 6 and still being able to eat at 4pm without an additional wait. Hopefully, someone more familiar with 'Ohana in particular will be able to chime in with more info.

Your best bet would be to go up to the podium well in advance of your reservation time and tell them that you have two reservations for the same time and want to be seated together or near each other. We've never done this at 'Ohana, but it has worked for us at Hollywood and Vine and several people report that they do this all the time with large parties and are usually accommodated.

We have had no luck whatsoever trying to call a WDW restaurant so I wouldn't advise it. We've been kept on hold for up to two hours and then told they can't do anything you can't do yourself on MDE. The phone CM gave the advice above about getting to the podium early and asking to combine parties. I'm not saying this is the experience for everyone, but it was definitely ours.
