has anyone been on the adventures of pooh ride in the Magic Kingdom. I went on it last year and thought it was a pretty ok ride, though i like Mr. Toads Wild ride much more. Here's the thing that bothers me a little, i just happened to obtain video of the Adventures of Pooh ride in Tokyo see, oh my god its incredible, completely blows WDW's version out of the water. I just can't understand why disney would not opt to put the best version of their rides in their centercase park...

comments anyone?

Simple reason

MONEY

The tokyo parks are NOT funded by Disney..so they of course get a LOT more money from the Tokyo Transportation deparemtn (I think thats who funds it)..so Tokyo gets the high prices toys.

I have ridden the pooh in Tokyo and can tell you its AMAZING..really makes you jealous :(

I've been on it..And I havent seen videos of Pooh in Tokyo

But I like the pooh Ride..It is a wonderfully done Dark Ride, Much better done then many of the -Other- Dark rides, which in my mind need some SERIOUS updates, Peter Pan and SNow White BOTH need work..With todays technology and with other rides like the haunted mansion nearby, those two just look...pitiful...

from the video it looks like all the cars move int wild random motions, thus having no tracks, is this true? do they use som sort of magnetic track system? Can some please explain the details of the pooh movement system to me, im really curious.

It uses Global Position..No car is on a track, it's run by sattelite, down to like a fraction of a centimeter, I believe.

Wow! Sounds like the Tokyo version is not to be missed...however, a trip there is just not in the cards right now!

Didn't I read someplace that visitors to Tokyo have different park expectations, and that Disney was almost forced to "raise the bar" in terms of thrill rides?

The imagineers are always raising the bar with the rides they design, however, most of htese new ideas never get the funding they need..
The Oriental Land Company..Bascially gave them a blank check..It was an Imagineer's dream come true. THATS why they have such amazing rides

Because they CAN...honestly...yes it boosts tourism, and they make a TON of money there...so why not splurge a bit?

i think thats great that japan is willing to put so much money into disney. the new park looks amazing, it just goes to show how much money really goes in this world.

NowInc Hit the nail on the head. They can, so they did. They also got some awesome new Monorails..

Just Goes to show you...Too Bad Bill Gates isn't a huge Disney Fan, He could strike up a deal similar to OrientalLC's..Thats EXACTLY what I'd do.
