I bought my Superstar Character breakfast today at Universal. When you buy it, it tells you to call to make your reservation. So, I called, but they told me that my date was too far out (7/29/14). When can you make ADRs for Universal?? Anyone know?

According to Universals Website, 24 hours before is as far out as you can go.

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED
After reserving and purchasing your dining experience online, you must call 407-224-7554 (EST 7:30am–10pm Mon-Sat; 7:30am–9pm Sun) up to 24 hours before arriving to confirm your table.

However, some unofficial web sites claim you can do it as soon as you are paid in full.

I would call Universal and get it straight from the horses mouth.

Yeah, the lady told me that I could try again at like 30 or 60 days out. She was very non-specific. It threw me off because I'm used to the "strict" deadlines/dates at Disney. I had assumed that Universal would be doing something along the same lines?? But, apparently not :)

Universal's dining isn't nearly as reservation-heavy as Disney's. Most people are walk ins. You shouldn't have a problem making your reservation as it gets closer.

Reserving dining at US/IOA is a real pain as there is no one centralized number to call of set of rules to follow. For some places you have to call US, others require calling the restaurant directly while others use Open Table. It is a real mess for anyone that like to do a bit of advanced planing.

 I sure hope not....at least it's still somewhat spontaneous at UNI. That's one of the reasons why this Nov. will be our last trip to WDW.
