Been reading these forums for quite a while but never posted before.. I've been going around in circles with my ADR's and still not 100% satisfied.. maybe you folks can help??

This trip will be just me & DH. Going Sept 23-Oct 3, first 3 nights we'll be at Universal. staying at POR with free DDP the rest. No problem paying oop for whatever isn't covered by DDP.. right now I've got:

Fri 9/25 dinner at Raglan Rd

Sat 9/26 breakfast at Tusker
dinner at Le Cellier

Sun 9/27 lunch at BOG
MNSSHP at night

Monday 9/28 dinner at Ohana

Tue 9/29 lunch at Beaches & Cream

Wed 9/30 breakfast at Kona, dinner at Boma

Thu 10/1 no ADR, planning to do F&W for the day

Fri 10/2 dinner at HDDR

Sat 10/3 breakfast at Ohana, dinner at The Plaza

I'd like to drop Le Cellier in favor of something else but not sure what? I'm also not sold on The Plaza, but DH thought it would be nice to spend our last night at MK and wants to do a TS meal.

Any advice?? thx

Other TS options at MK are Crystal Palace (ate there, food was good), and Tony's (haven't eaten there, can't vote one way or the other). I think your best value for the DDP would be to go with CP if you can find a reservation. Unfortunately, my favorite MK TS restaurant, Liberty Tree, will be under refurbishment during your visit :(

As for switching Le Cellier, are you hoping to keep the new reservation in Epcot?

Great choices. LC is not worth 2 credit or the money IMHO The Plaza is about the best value if you are paying op. Not fancy but very nice and the deserts are wonderful. We've never been unhappy there. Besides there is something special about ending your vacation watching Wishes.

^^^^ yes if you're on the DP and can get in!

thanks for the suggestions so far! no, I don't particularly care about switching Le Cellier for another at Epcot.. anywhere is fine. I only booked that one because I wanted to try the cheddar cheese soup.. but I've heard that's available at F&W? that's one thing throwing me off a hit.. I've never been to F&W and not really sure what to expect.. ie: how much food is available? what are the special dining events like and are they worth it? etc..

I actually had a CP dinner booked our last night at one point and changed ibecause it was pretty late and we would have missed the parade.. kind of regretting that now.. oh well! this is what happens when I think about things too much!!

It looks like on 10/3 there's also an 11pm MSEP running, so I checked availability on TS in MK and at the MK resorts. If you wanted to abandon your Plaza reservation, there are still several slots available at Tony's -- and many at the monorail resorts that would get you back to MK in time to watch the parade.

I am SO with you on thinking about things too much -- but it's hard not to when there is such an overwhelming amount of information out there to peruse endlessly!

We were there during F&W last year, lots of awesome kiosks/booths set up around WS in Epcot, and some great use of snack credits can be had there.

As for dropping Le Cellier, do you find yourself wishing for a certain type of food, or have any other restaurants caught your eye? It's my ADR day today, so I'm right in the thick of the what-do-I-do dance with you. It's like the menu at Cheesecake Factory...too many options and my head spins! :joyfull:

I totally agree! way too many options.. and I just keep changing my mind about the best way to go.

the places I was considering to replace Le Cellier are:
50's prime time (DH is a huge fan of this kind of food)
via Napoli (heard lots of great things about it)
Sanaa for something a little different for us
1900 PF (I've heard the characters here are fun at dinner)
Boatwrights (because maybe we should consider the TS at our own resort?? :)

opinions anyone?

Eating at Le Cellier just for the Cheddar Cheese soup is not a really good reason (please don't take the wrong way) they have herded people in there for years to eat that soup and then get a very pedestrian steak - news - the soup is not that good and you would probably spend those calories on something GREAT elsewhere. I love Il Mulino at th Swan, but it does not take the DDP (we get the deluxe plan, rough it for breakfast with protein bars we bring and a plan snack, eat a TS lunch then use 2 credits at dinner) we pay for Il mulino and then put those credits toward a character breakfast. Il Mulino is a great place - one of the best rooms in Disney, very contemporary with great food - more casual than the one in NY or Vegas, but same basic menu. If you like seafood, Narcoosees at the GF is a very good place. The surf & turf which retails at about $70 - $75 depending on season is included in the DDP. We have gone there for an early dinner then went over to Mk for electrical parade and fireworks. We are going in 2 weeks and our dinners are:

Narcoosees - twice

Il Mulino

Artist Point

California Grill

Yachtsman Steakhouse (I am a steakhouse junkie - it is OK but not memorable - we stay at Yacht CLub)

Via Napoli (1 credit) - quick walk from YC and works into our late afternoon Epcot plans after day at waterpark

I m going to 50s prime time café for lunch, but it is almost by default because I got food poisoning at Sci Fi DI last year and swore to never go back. I am not a big "comfort food" person, so the thought of meatloaf, pot roast, fried chicken, etc for dinner with all that commotion is a bit much. I would not swap out LC for 50sPTC. Via Napoli has everything if you like Italian, including Chicken or Veal Parmigian, great pizza, a large selection of pasta dishes, etc and depending on what time, you can stay for Illuminations.

Sympathy like! So sorry to hear about the food poisoning.
