ADR Early Park Entry Proceedure

Question, what is the procedure for getting into the parks early for pre-opening ADR.

I guess they scan your MB's and check for the reservation and park tickets. Only the people with the ADR are allowed in?

just checking how they do it. I remember there was a person with a clipboard back in the day.

Yea, still basically the same concept. In the morning, a CM will be holding a sign that's clearly marked for breakfast reservations and direct you to someone that has a list of names. That person will scan your ticket/magic band and direct you to which line to go through to enter the park and yes, only the people with the ADR will be allowed in. So if you have 4 people on your reservation and show up with 6, those other two people won't be allowed in till after the park opens.

Is there a bus that picks up from the Epcot area resorts and takes guests to the Magic Kingdom in time for 8:00am ADRs, or are we better off just getting a cab? Specifically, we need to get from Beach Club to Cinderella's Royal Table by 8:00. If the best way is to just take a cab, will they be readily available outside the resort or do we have to call ahead to arrange one?

EDIT: We also have an 8:00am Tusker House ADR, so I'd be interested in how to handle the same situation but with AK as the destination. THX

we love using taxis, just because they are on your schedule, not the bus drivers schedule.
the bell hop can call you a cab and usually they are there within 5 mins.

But if you are gong to MK, you may ask to go to the contemporary instead b/c I'm pretty sure the cab drops you off at TTC and you still need to take the ferry or monorail over. If you go to CR or Bay Lake, there its only a 3ish minute walk to the front gate.

It depends what time your reservation is for. If your breakfast reservation is for a time that is prior to park opening, they will scan your ticket/MB and allow you to go in.

A couple weeks ago the MK opened at 8am and our CP reservation was for 8:10...they did not let us in early. We had to wait until after the welcome show before being allowed to go in.

Thanks for this. I wouldn't have expected to wind up at the TTC, Good advice. We'll head for the Contemporary.

no worries....yea, MK is tough like that when taking a cab. Go to any other park, and they basically drop you right at the front gates.

If you have never been to the CR/BLT, after they drop you off, head back toward the guard shack and there is a paved path that runs right under the monorail track there. It will take you past the bus drop off and ferry boat dock right to bag check.

if you look at google maps you can see the reddish path.

enjoy!!

We've walked from the Contemporary to MK in the past. We've just never used a cab at Disney.
Should we tip the bellman who calls the cab?

Anybody aware of how long before the actual ADR they let you in the park? (I have an 8:50am @ BOG)

MK has always been the most liberal with this, but no guarantees. Other parks are pretty strict with the 15 minute policy, but we've gotten in before 8 at MK regardless of ADR time...as long as it was pre-park opening. I think our Crystal Palace one last trip was 8:40am and we got in right around 8...just b/c that's when we got there.

Do you have an idea of how early the first busses leave? I'm usually not an early bird lol. But this trip I'm determined to get the best castle pic ever :)

We have a Tusker House reservation for our upcoming trip. I think it's for 8:10. When I made it the park was scheduled to open at 9, but it looks like they added EMH that morning, so the park opens at 8. I'm glad that I now know I shouldn't have a bus issue, but it does throw our plans for the day. I assume we can't get in early since the reservation is for after park opening. I really hate being late, and when they say arrive 15 min early I'm usually closer to 20 min early. Should I be worried about being 5 min late for our reservation? Should I cancel it? We wanted to get out of breakfast and walk into safari, but the park may be pretty crowded by the time we're done. Any suggestions?

We always make sure to be at the bus stop by 6:45 as the bus usually arrives around then, but doesn't leave until closer to 7.

Is 7:00am the only opportunity to catch an early bus? Or do they keep running at intervals up until the regular daily runs begin?

In other words- do we need to board by 7:00am? If we arrive at the bus stop later, say 7:20am, will another come along? or is it 7:00 only and then that's it until regular buses start? At that time of the morning I'm not too excited about making it even earlier for no reason.

We had to wait until after the welcome show before being allowed to go in.

In all my visits to Disney I have yet to be at a rope drop. Can you explain the Welcome Show? Where does it take place? On the park schedule it's listed as beginning 20 minutes before the park opens, so how do people see it? Is it outside of the park entrance?
