Wow, the cloan and heal tool is awesome. Just this morning my wife asked if I could do something similiar in a particular picture and I had to tell her no. I wonder if she'll let me spend the money to upgrade from 4 to 5

Final is out now ("ships") officially tomorrow. Will auto update if you are part of creative cloud. Works WAY faster than previous versions..tested on both my macbook and my PC.

Looks like I need to purchase this. The raw .RAF files from my Fuji seem to be lacking support amongst software developers.

Now I'm not sure if I want to shoot RAW at Disney next week. A few sample JPEGS I took look a lot better than I thought and the boards are now full of people saying that the Fuji JPEGS have a lot more lateral movement for editing than Canon / Nikon JPEGS.

IF lightroom can read the RAF files from the camera, then all you would need to do for other programs (ie photoshop) to read them is do download the newest version of Adobe Camera Raw (ACR and LR are updated in tandum). Once you open the images in ACR, you can convert to DNG and open in any older version of lightroom or photoshop.

not unless you CS6... CS5 camera raw won't allow you to download up the newest version to get it. Trust me, I spent like 4 hours yesterday researching this, I wasn't a happy camper.

That is truly really weird. If ACR/LR5 supports it, then it should...by default..work in DNG converter. I will inquire with Adobe about this later today (perks of being certified!) and get back to you if they have a solution.

Also..I'm sure you already know this, but if you so choose you can always use your wifes teacher licence to get adobe CC suite on the cheap (I think its like 20 bucks a month? But you get everything..including photoshop and lightroom 5 and a nice chunk of cloud storage). Not sure if you want to pay monthly tho for apps you may use. It seems they did a great job of eliminate the different packages for different fields. For example they used to have specific plans for Photographers, designers, web people etc..now its everything for $50/mo (sans any discounts)....or one app at a time for $20/mo per program.

If you own LR4, the upgrade fee WITHOUT teacher/student discount is only $80...so I think you may be able to get it even cheaper if you combine the 2.

THANKFULLY they still sell LR individually without a required subscription (I think they pull a TON of sales from physical in store copies).
