Adding someone to resort reservation for part of trip

Hi Guys,

We are from the Uk and have booked a 10 night package at Saratoga Springs with tickets and dining plan in June 2014. We have been talking with a friend who is going to be travelling in America at the same time and who wants to Join us for 3 nights at Disney World.
Does anyone know whether we would be able to add her to our room reservation for the 3 nights she's here, as we have the full package but she wouldnt?

I spoke to someone at the WDTC on the phone and they seemed to think we would be able to do it when we got to the resort and just add her to the room for 3 nights, but not in advance as we have a package.

Has anyone done this and added someone when they got to Disney World? I'm just a bit worried as i'd hate for her to come and see us and then end up not being able to stay with us- plus we won't have a car so if she has to stay off Disney property it would be more difficult.

The Disney agent is correct.

If you add someone to a reservation before your trip, you can't do it for just part of the trip. So an extra adult would incur the extra adult per-night fees (though I don't think those apply at SSR or the other DVC properties), and if you have a package reservation they would be required to get the same tickets and Dining Plan.

But, after you check in, each aspect of your package operates independently. So the front desk can add them for only a few nights. Since you're at a DVC resort, you could even set it up the day you check in and have her listed the entire time. Though if it were someone staying at a regular resort, they'd only want to do it for the days they'd need it to avoid the extra adult fees.

Your friend will get a generic gray Magic Band, since you won't be able to customize one beforehand.

One other thing. Your friend won't be eligible to use Magical Express from the airport to the hotel. Only Guests on the actual reservation have access to it. So if your friend won't have a car, they'll have to make other transport arrangements.
