Bummer. We normally just add it, but for a quick trip decided not to. Now I am regretting it.... hmmmmIt's not based on how many days you intend to use it. It's based on the length of your ticket. It looks like a 3 day ticket would cost $60 to upgrade to a hopper.
For a quick trip, Hopper is imperative. Much more value if you can visit multiple parks in the same day.Bummer. We normally just add it, but for a quick trip decided not to. Now I am regretting it.... hmmmm
Why would you regret it? Just add it on when you get there and use it whenever you want during your stay. It is probably the simplest, most cost effective thing that Disney offers. Don't tell them that though because they will change it. Having it available for your three days is exactly the same cost as for one day. You can do it either way, but, you won't save anything and potentially missed out on a lot of possibilities.Bummer. We normally just add it, but for a quick trip decided not to. Imperative? Not necessarily. It's really a matter of personal preference. On a short trip, I'm even less likely to want to invest time traveling between parks. I'd rather maximize my time in the park I've chosen for the day.For a quick trip, Hopper is imperative. Much more value if you can visit multiple parks in the same day.
For a 3 day, I'd go between EPCOT and MK on the monorail. Even go to DHS from EPCOT (boat or even 20min walk) for a few hours. Go to AK in the early morning to do Pandora and avoid MK during the afternoons.
Hopper just gives you so many options and allows you to see so much more, particularly if you're smart about hopping with Monorail, boats and nearby parks. Travel time between parks isn't long if you use the services offered. It's tough to hop to AK, so you always do that in the morning, IMO. Otherwise, the hopping just gives you a little time to relax since you can't go back to the room with only 3 days.
We feel the same. If we are there for just 2 or 3 days we will not do the hopper as it is hard to justify the extra $225 ($75x3 people). However if we are there for 7-8 days we will always get it because we find it very beneficial.Imperative? Not necessarily. It's really a matter of personal preference. If you have been as often as I have, I have a specific number of wanna see's on my agenda. I find it very little hassle to go from park to park, probably because I drive my own car, but, the only way that I will be able to do my must sees on a short trip is by not spending entire days at one park and doing things that I really don't care all that much about. The only park that presents a problem as far as logistics are concerned is DAK. The others MK, Epcot and DHS have alternate, attraction like transportation between them. Boats and Monorails are attractions to me.We feel the same. If we are there for just 2 or 3 days we will not do the hopper as it is hard to justify the extra $225 ($75x3 people). I disagree. If you use the boats, monorail, or even walk between DHS and EPCOT, you can cover way more ground hopping versus not.Imperative? Not necessarily. You make the assumption that everyone requires seeing all the parks on a given trip.I'd rather do the parks I see really well (as in staying all day and doing everything I really want to do) than checking them all off the list.I disagree. If you have 3 days and only visit 3 parks, you're missing 1 whole park completely. Not a good use of time. Further, you can easily do the top attractions and shows at every park while avoiding longer lines if you time it well. For example, avoiding Magic Kingdom in the afternoon is a good time to enjoy other parks.
Definitely, but personal preference is developed over time when you know exactly what's there. I'd hate for someone to miss an entire park without knowing what they are missing. You make the assumption that everyone requires seeing all the parks on a given trip.I'd rather do the parks I see really well (as in staying all day and doing everything I really want to do) than checking them all off the list.
As I said though, it's a matter of personal preference. No absolutes here.
LOL, you don't have to convince me. It's OK for both of us to have different approaches and preferences. I'm just offering up a different opinion. There is no "right" way to visit a theme park resort.Definitely, but personal preference is developed over time when you know exactly what's there. Furthermore, every park has at least 2-3 things that are must do for any Disney fan.
If I have 1 day and I'm at EPCOT, you better believe I'm going to walk (run) to DHS to at least ride Tower, Toy Story, Star Tours, and RnR.
We quit hopping years ago, never realizing it was imperative. I think hopping is a huge waste of time and energy, but, it is my time, no one else.LOL, you don't have to convince me. Exactly how I am. I don't always use them everyday, but, it makes planning easier if you're going to do ADR's. You don't have to worry about being in your chosen park that far out. If you want to spend a lot of the day in MK and hop over to Epcot for a meal or just to ride SSE one more time, you can do it. Otherwise, like the Magic Bus you are sequestered in the one park. I know I have an obsession about this, but, I hate feeling like a prisoner. I want to be able to do what I want, when I want to do it.Before I got an AP we ALWAYS got hoppers. We may not have always hopped, but I wanted to have the option to...
