Adding notes to ADR

Hi all

I’ve made a few ADR for our trip next month. At the time I didn’t put any special requests because I was so desperate to get the reservations.

I’ve noticed online I can’t put notes and requests so what’s the best way to do it?

I’m asking things like:

1. Willing to wait for a table at Olga’s Cantina past the reservation time

2. Request quieter areas of a restaurant to help our son who does sometimes struggles with loud environments.

Can you clarify what you mean regarding the Oga's Cantina request? Do you mean how long they will hold the table past your reservation time?

As far as the second request, I don't think there's any way to effectively handle that other than asking at the podium when you check in and being prepared to wait. If possible, maybe you could stop by the podium in advance of your check-in time and explain the situation. If the restaurant has a quieter section or room, I'm sure they would at least attempt to accommodate you.

In the past, you could call WDW dining and make requests, but that doesn't work anymore (at least it didn't for me). The wait times can be prohibitive - over 2 hours - and in the end you probably won't get anyone who can help you.

Thanks for the reply

For Olga’s we have a 2pm reservation but are willing to wait if it means we get table seating but I guess that’s the same case of asking at checkin

I can't remember the online system ever allowing for any kind of notes. I have called when I've wanted to add a birthday indicator to an ADR or if I forgot to add my daughter's allergy information, but that's pretty much been it. You could always call and try, but specific requests like this probably need to be done in person. I've had to do this when we were willing to wait to combine two groups/ADRs and I've seen it with special food requests (like the gluten free fried chicken prep needed at 50s). Oga's is open pretty early, so you could always pop by the check in area in advance to see if they can put any notes on it there for you. If not, it may be something you have to convey at check in time. They are also usually in character, but are pretty good at intertwining special needs without an issue. I know I mentioned something at both check in and at the table about my daughter's allergies and they were able to cover it while staying in character too.

Disney is getting very resistant to helping anyone who calls. We tried calling a few months ago to add a birthday celebration note and to request combining two groups and were told that those requests had to be made at the restaurant podium. It's entirely possible that you could get a different result with a different phone CM but I wouldn't count on it. In fact, the recorded message that's played over and over again while you're on hold pretty much states that they won't be able to do any more for you than you can do for yourself online.

What you are asking for isnt outrageous or difficult to arrange and the host or hostess should be able to accommodate you. I'd show up earlier than my ADR and approach whoever is on duty with the request. Disney CM's usually will work with you as long as your wants arent out of line or you arent demanding with how you ask.
