Adding Days

So I have heard of adding days to your ticket on the end of your package, but can you do that on the front end? I have a chance to go down three days early and was thinking of adding three days on to just the ticket portion of the package?

If you have tickets with a package you cannot use those tickets until you check in for your package starting date. Once you have those tickets you can upgrade them to add more days for later like you said.
If I'm understanding your question right, you will need to move your check in date earlier so you can get your tickets earlier for those 3 new days. Or you will have to change to a room only reservation for the nights you want to stay and buy tickets seperately so you can use them 3 days before your room only starts.

Thanks, I called them and it looks like the cheapest thing to do is move the reservations, kick the wife off the reservations and then buy her ticket when she gets down there which will be 4 days later.

You might run into trouble if she needs things like Magical Express from the airport or the dining plan.

If you only have two people (yourself and your wife) on the reservation, here's my suggestion:
-Change the reservation checkin date to whatever you need it to be.
-Leave the tickets on your package to be whatever length your wife needs hers to be.
-When you arrive and check in, add days to only *your* park ticket. You'll just pay the price difference between what you have and what you want.

Since they don't start charging an extra-guest nightly fee until you get to a 3rd adult, your room won't cost any more even if she's listed as a guest on the days she's not there.

This keeps the reservation intact, your wife still listed on it, your wife still with tickets associated with her reservation and with access to Magical Express. She'll also get a Magic Band and be eligible to book FP+ before the trip if it's been rolled out before your stay. (The one catch is that *you* will be limited to the number of days you can pre-book FP+ for until you've added the extra days onto your ticket at check-in)

Well if I did that, wouldn't our dining plan be up at the end of the reservation?

I'm not sure I understand the question. Dining Plan credits expire at midnight the day you check out.

If you have the Dining Plan on your package reservation, taking your wife *off* the reservation removes her dining plan credits, too. While you can get her added to the room after you arrive, there is no way to add the Dining Plan for her after you arrive.

If you are staying under a Free Dining promo, there's no reason not to make the changes I previously outlined. In fact, you'd get a few *extra* credits for the days that your wife won't be there. Those could be used by you, or you could get an extra meal or two covered for when she's there or even double-up to eat at a Signature restaurant. (Dining credits are pooled among everyone in the room, you don't have separate credits)

If you're paying for the Dining Plan, you'll have to crunch the numbers and see what's the most cost-effective option.
