Activities on Halloween Night???

We will be in WDW the last 2 weeks of October with our daughter (will be almost 3 years old). We are trying to decide when to get tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I thought that it would be fun to be there on actual Halloween, but I since we will have the opportunity to go on a differnt night, maybe we should do that and take advantage of another activity on Halloween night. Are there other fun things to do at the resorts or Downtown Disney on Halloween night? Trick or Treating? Parties? What would you suggest?

As I understand it, the party is usually most crowded on Halloween night, so you may want to avoid it for that reason. When I was there last Halloween we did the party earlier in the week (the 27th maybe?) and had a blast. I don't know too much about the trick-or-treating, but I saw people bringing costumed kids into Epcot on Halloween night, and I saw kids trick or treating in Downtown Disney. (I did a little trick or treating myself in Ghirardelli! :slurp: ) We were staying at All Star Sports and they had a pumpkin carving contest and a kid's costume contest. They also had a basket full of beanie-sized stuffed vultures and they passed them out to the kids waiting for the buses (and me when I asked :D ). I don't know if they do these things at every resort or every year, but it was a lot of fun. I would suggest going ahead and getting your tickets for the earlier party and then asking about other activities when you check in. Halloween is the best time to be at Disney....Have lots of fun!
