Accomodates kids and grownup fun

I'm racking my brain (and the internet) to find something offsite (or onsite for that matter) that is:

a) affordable, $200 - $250 a night
b) a suite or condo - a room for the kids and one for me and the missus, kitchen amenities desired
c) has grown-up fun built in: some kind of nightlife, ie: a bar, pool night hours, etc. The plan is to tuck in the kids (old enough to watch themselves) and head downstairs for some socializing with other adults.

I'm thinking that a condo or timeshare won't make c) available but a hotel suite with 2 rooms won't pass muster with item a).

I don't mind renting a car so offsite hotels are an option.

Any recommendations? I see people recomending Vistana and saying they pay like $800 for a week, but everything I see online for it indicates upwards of $300 bucks per night.

Try the onsite value resorts or mods. POFQ has a great bar in the lobby with a very funny guy on the piano. Prices are reasonable.

I'm looking for something offsite. I may have found something, a condo-tel called Floridays. Any have any experience with the place?

It's an 1100 sf, 2 bedroom condo with kitchen, laundry, balcony, jacuzzi and big screen tvs in a facility with restaurants, pool and a bar. $193 a night.

we just returned 2 weeks ago and stayed at windsor palms, a condo 3 miles from disney, we paid $545 for the whole week, 3 bedroom, 2 bath kitchenette. we reserved through vrbo.com. though you can book through a real estate broker for a higher rate. we didn't use the amenities but there was a huge pool, club house with billiards, movie theatre etc. very nice place would definitely recommend but no bar... sorry

there was also a washer and dryer in every condo and trash pick up. the washer and dryer came in handy. no elevators and we were on the 3rd floor with 2 kids ages 6 and 3, next time i will request ground level!

we stayed at the nick hotel. its really like 3 miles from disney gates but, its more for the kids if anything. im sure your kids would love spongebob and fairly oddparents all over the place but the adults may not. they had a nice waterpark in the hotel, but hey im 17 and that still appeals to me :p

well maybe you could look into it. good luck !

How was the Nick hotel?wasit clean ..especailly the pool? I've been reading some really bad things on traveladvisor.com about it, but I'm staying there with my kids for the third time in 2 years and I'm hopeing that the cleanliness factor has improved. (My 12 year old is a Nick fanatic!).

Floridays is relatively new and looks nice. I have been pased there on my way out and about from Nick Hotel. If I am correct I think they also have a timeshare plan.

I want to find a townhouse, house, or condo that I can rent for the entire summer next year if I can't go to TDL. Anyone have any ideas?

I have been to Orlando 8 times now and the best place I have been is the Sheraton's Vistana resort. This is the best for you and your kids seeing as you really don't have to leave the resort for anything. Anything you could think of they have on the resorts property. If your a Florida fan and go there regularly I would sugest buying into a timeshare instead of paying hotels everytimne you go. Go to vistana buy into it and then go back every 2 years if you buy that plan from vistana.

I have stayed at the Floridays and it is great and sounds perfect for what your looking for especailly with the affordability.

All Star Vacation Homes. ( http://www.allstarvacationhomes.com/rent_a_vacation_home.asp )

They have condos ranging from $139 a night to homes close to $300. I have read endorsements on Intercot, WDWInfo, and AllEars. When we go in January that's who plan to make a reservation with. Close to WDW too.

This is a good question...because so many of the condos and homes are in areas where there really is no entertainment close by where 1. you could feel comfortable leaving the kids and 2. frankly not driving too far after a few drinks.

A couple of places come to mind that might just meet your needs.
1. Check out renting a mobile home in the Vista Del lago park just west of Disney on hwy 192.
one example of many: http://www.vacationhomerentals.com/...Villa-Vacation-Home-by-Disney-proID-2439.html
right next to the entrance is a great little British Pub and restaurant called Beef O"Brady's...great food, good beer, lots of fun adults. Don't be scared off by the mobile home thing...these are really nice places for a great price with shopping, food, bars right next door.
2. For big bucks, go any site where owners sell Disney vacation club points and check out enough for a one bedroom at Beach Club or Boardwalk. Here you could just wander down to the Boardwalk and have a ball...it is my fantasty week, but it will be expensive1

Good Luck...Ted

Nick Hotel and Birthdays

Hello, I'm a mom with a 4 year old son. He has a birthday coming up and I was wondering if anyone has taken advantage of Nick Hotel's "Best Birthday Present Ever!"? I know this promotion includes one nights stay free. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks!

Nick Hotel Florida Resident/Family Vacation Deals

I have heard about the "Best Birthday Present Ever!" package, but I have also heard about their florida resident package and Orlando family vacation package where you can get a credit of $50 per day for food and beverages. Has anyone taken advantage of this deal while staying at the Nick Hotel? I think this would be great for my family.
