Why is Roy Disney protesting now to save The "Disney Company" when he had to step down from the board of Directors instead of doing it many years ago while he was still a member and saw this coming?

Roy Disney never owned the Disney Company but only "Shamrock
Holdings".

This being the case why is everyone so shocked?

Can some body clear this up for me Im confused here.

The actions of Michael Eisner in pretty much forcing his resignation was probably the last straw for Roy Disney, simple as that.

Last straw since when?

Why couldn't Roy Disney protest ahead of time years before when Roy was active on the Board of Directors and had an opportunity to change things from the inside?

To certain people's opinion Isn't Eisner's "actions" something that has been going on for years if not close to a whole decade now?

Do we know for a fact that he WASN"T doing that for all these years?

Theres a lot we probably don't know about what happened in those board room meetings.

As much as i dont like Jim Hill's style of reporting, he's done a good and fair job with the whole Roy story. He's gota the whole saga explained very thoroughly on his site, so that should answer most of your questions.

And its Eisner's people who in a Time Magazine who are saying that "Roy never spoke up"... thats where that tidbit of info is comming from.

Roy couldn't protest until after he resigned. He wasn't allowed to do that.

Or else... *flings finger over throat*

I have a CNN interview with Roy. . . . I may later write it out.

You are right, Grizz. According to the "rules" you can't complain or say anything negative while a member...wish I could find the direct qoutes! :brick:

Yes, he couldn't complain or say negative things...publicly!

I'm sure there were some heated discussions, on more than a couple occasions, in those meetings with "Mr. Wonderful".

Roy Disney and Stanley Gold haven't seen eye to eye with Eisner for a while...this has been known...while Roy or Stan didn't really publicly complain about the aspects that made them uncomfortable, before because of restrictions; I'm sure they made their voices heard with the board, which caused them to get on Eisner's destroy list....hence the occurences of the last few months...

Okay so Roy Disney could not protest inside because it's against policy.

Why couldn't he do something that was within the rules?

Make a change?

Hey why didn't this ever happen?

Roy: Jetson your fired!!
Eisner: But……………….but……….Mr. Spacely?

Didn't Roy bring in Eisner so why couldn't he cast him out in the get go to let things get so bad that Roy now has to step down?

Chief Eisner tried to show dominance over Roy. . . keeping him out of his OWN department meetings. . . leaving him (although they claim it was on policy - apparently it wasn't) off the list for reelection. . .

. . . the only way Roy could change Disney would be from the outside with this mass of support he has. I'm quite sure Ei$ner'$ $uper Power$ of the Pur$e would have killed any plan.

I just had a thought.

Why can't Roy Disney go back to the Disney Company and the Board of Directors?

Did they already make a vote?

I mean Roy did step down out of his own will.

For Roy or Eisner if they are reading this:

Hey Eisner, this is a wake up call buddy.
You got to change things to the better in the Disney Company.
It's not that hard, you can do it.

Hey Roy get back in there, get on that horse, and ride!

Could you define for me "...this mass of support he has"? Do you really think that the Walt Disney Company is founded upon or works because of public opinion of the company? You know that good old Walt turned on his animators back in the 1950's using various political tactics. Why did he do that? Don't be an unwitting dupe and fall victim to the tactics now used by Roy and Stanley. They are the evil doers. :fork:

"During his testimony, Walt "mis-spoke" himself, confusing the League of Women Voters with another group called the League of Women Shoppers, a leftist group who had been sending letters to the Disney Studio supporting the Guild and berating Walt Disney during the Strike."

"...this mass of support he has"?

www.SaveDisney.com . You know, just Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnson and a Mouskeeteer and Hundreds of Animators and Cast Members - people outside AND inside the company. (I'd rather have the DISNEY opinions rather than the huge stockholder/Board opinion$.)

That's all. :animwink:

Evil is a relative term.
