That's not really THAT bad! When we lived in Fairfax, Va, or little 3 small bedroom townhouse sold for $570,000! Good thing we only rented!

Some of the condos may be had at about 400k as well as some of the townhomes or garden homes.
Larger estate homes can easily be above 3 million.
Great place to live, with something for all budgets !

227 Acadia Terrace
Asking Price $2,800,000

300.000 and above . There was a new house emailed to us for 650.000 . Yep I can dream like the rest of us ? What do they do that they can live there (Celebration} and afford 2000.00 plus mortgage ?

You can't even buy a standard 2/2 around me in Tampa for $200k. It's one of the reasons I'm still renting. Between the expensive cost of homes and the insane home owner's insurance costs (most people are paying $2,000 - 3,000 a year where only a year ago you paid $500 - $1,000) I literally can't afford to buy a home. It's insane.

I know someone who lives in Celebration who's house was recently valued just shy of $1 million. And it's not what you'd expect it to be. It's a nice house, but it's a nice typical subdivision type housing. It's just that Celebration is a pricer market than most.

Heck, you're hard-pressed to find an apartment in a nice neighborhood for less then $1,000 here in Tampa Bay, so I can't imagine you'd find anything but a storage shed for $200K in Celebration.

Wow Long Islands prices are still higher. I think I have to sell my house here and go donw there lol.
Well yeah, of course they are. But the wages down here are significantly lower. Which is putting housing prices out of reach of average, working class residents.

Just the other day I mentioned to my DH that when we retire we should move to Celebration, LOL, now that I have seen the prices, I think I will just stay in my 2400 sq ft home in MS and drive to WDW once a year:animwink:

Honestly...the figures I had were a few years old. We priced new homes in Celebration and the smallest ones were in the 225,000 range. I remember a three bedroom bungalow running around 280,000.

After a couple more years in Miami....we will likely be Celebration bound...unless we find something else in the Orlando area we like better.:lookaroun

I'd LOVE to live there. I think the best place to look is their web site, as mentioned on the previous page, apartments seem to be starting from 200, town houses and cottages 3-400, you can fill in a form on the site for info to be sent to you....

Well, like you Lee, I too am stuck in Miami for a while. Hubby is a police officer here and we can't leave until he retires in 10-15 years. WDW is only a 4 hour drive away so it is not too bad. I have always wanted to live in Celebration though. I remember when I first saw it around 1995. You could still buy a townhouse for about $160k now I don't know if we could afford it.

Luckily, we bought our house in Miami 5 years ago for $120k and now it is worth about $300k so if I use all the profits from selling my home to put a nice $180k down payment, I might just be able to afford one. Worst case scenario, DH says once we pay off the 5 acres we bought in North Florida, we can buy a vacation home in the Orlando area. You can still find condos for less than $100K within a 30 minute drive from Orlando if you know where to look.

Doctors, lawyers, private business owners you name it. There are quite a few careers that pay absolutely sick money. I know a guy in my MLM up-line whose check last month after taxes was in the $60,000 range and numerous others that pull at least $20,000 per month.

Many of the million dollar and up houses that I have been involved with have been paid for cash.

We still live here, it is still that expensive, where did you live near? Pm me.

I used to know how to PM people, but now I forgot! lol. I don't live there anymore so it's safe! We lived in Random Hills! It was about 1/4 mile away from my house!
