? about AP or AAA rate...

Well, my mother in law came through and bought annual passes for our family of 4 for the next year!! She is a blessing!! We will buy them when we come to WDW at the end of April for a quick trip!!

We joined AAA in March when our minivan started leaking and the mechanic nearly ruined the transmission and timing belt trying to fix the leak. We needed the towing possibility!

Now I am going to reserve a short 3-4 night trip at the end of April/early May and wondered if there are any benefits to going through AAA rather than just calling WDW and using an AP rate as I have done for 20 yrs. I know that price could be different but are there any advantages to using AAA that I do not know as we have never been members?

Thanks friends!! Life is good!!

AAA tends to always have an available discount, but it is not much, on the order of 10%. AP discounts tend to be higher. However, there is no reason to book through AAA as you can book a AAA room only directly through Disney. If you are booking before an AP rate is released you can book at the AAA rate and then switch to an AP rate if one becomes available.

AAA has diamond parking for closer entrance parking. I don't know, but does AP offer parking privilege? Not a big enough deal for me either way to choose AAA over AP, but it is the one feature of AAA (besides minor discount) that I have used.

AP provides free parking, but not preferred (closer) parking.

There really isn't any benefit to using AAA if you have an AP -- the discount is significantly different and more than makes up for walking a few extra rows for parking...10% AAA discount vs 30% AP discount and possible upgrade at times for the same rate = AP no brainer....

AP parking is free (unless you have the Florida seasonal pass.). AAA you pay for. And those lots aren't always all they're cracked up to be, especially at the MK. I can use them and don't.
