ABC Sound Studio at Downtown Disney

Anyone know about the basically-forgotten ABC Sound Studio at Hollywood Studios?

Anyone have some thoughts, ideas, memories, critisizm or something on it?

ABC Theater Right

Superstar Television (May 1989 – September 1998)
Doug Live! (March 1999 – May 2001)
Get Happy with ABC (August – October 2002)
The American Idol Experience (February 14, 2009 - present)

ABC Theater Left

The Monster Sound Show (May 1989 – August 1996)
ABC Sound Studio (September 1997 – 1999)
Sounds Dangerous (1999 - Present)

I never got to see the ABC Sound Studio, but I liked the Monster Sound Show. When the park opened in 89, it was only a few years removed from the Three Amigos being a hit and Chevy Chase and Martin Short's popularity being fairly high. It was a good show, it was fun, and it helped further the cohesiveness of the "working studio" theme.

Let me put it this way, if they recreated the show almost identically, today, with Will Ferrell and Steve Carell (pick two random current comedy stars) it would be very popular, imo.

And, since it was being discussed in the other thread, I think that if they brought Superstar Television back with current shows (updating the shows every 5 years), it would be one of the most popular attractions in the park. Getting rid of that was a massive mistake.

^^^^ Sweet I'm 12 so I only get to see Sounds Dangerous! and American Idol, the two attractions at all theme parks that's at the bottom of my to-do list! :ROFLOL:

I agree! My favorite of his is how much detail he put into the Wonders of Life pavilion! I watched the complete hour and a half video!




I wouldn't mind Disney having a nice ABC channel dark ride, all in favor say I
