According to national primetime ratings for the first week of the new season, everything has indicated a continued loss of viewers for the major broadcast networks. The ONLY EXCEPTION was none other than Disney's ABC, which was up by 10 percent in total viewers from last year and is up a solid 12 percent among adults 18-49, the major demographic advertisers, who pay for commerical slots, appeal to. On the orther hand, the remaining five networks were on the downside this past week from year to year.
Now, considering we all know that ABC HAD to go up or Disney was in same major trouble, this looks very promising. ABC isn't number 1 or anything, but it looks promising that after years of declining and stagnant ratings, things are looking a little brighter for ABC. After all, the were the ONLY network last week to see an increase in viewers from year to year. The real test is this next week: can their shows hold onto viewers from week to week?
