ABC Sales to Rep Orioles Network
NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) -- ABC Regional Sports Sales has copped a second client in the sports in-dustry as it signed with the Orioles Television Network as its exclusive national advertising sales rep through-out most of the country, ABC said. The three-year deal includes 71 regular-season broadcast games over the network. It does not include the Orioles games telecast over cable network Home Team Sports, owned by ca-ble operator Comcast Corp. ABC already has a similar deal with the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Net-work, a New York-area regional cable sports network. Among the major-market stations on the Orioles Net-work are WJZ in Baltimore, WNUV in Baltimore and WBDC in Washington. The Orioles Television Network was formed on a similar model to the New England Sports Network, with plans to eventually distribute all of the games after Comcast's contract expires in five years.
