I don't think there will be any issues.. We scheduled our vacation to arrive on Election day so we had a week to get away and not hear the losers campaign whine about things. Having been there in the past it's no different than any other Tuesday. Since there is the possibility of the first woman ever being elected I could see an extra bounce in the step of those who support her, but other than that, you shouldn't expect mass hysteria from the election fallout at Disney.. people go there to vacation, not riot election results..

Well, as far as I know, people don't go to Disney World to vote for president, or any other political office. Depending on who gets out and votes, I suppose it's possible attendance could be slightly down at times, but that's also, if I'm not mistaken, one of Disney's "slow seasons." Honestly, I would think you'd find longer lines at polling places than you would at Disney parks. Having said that, the day after, the world is probably going to melt down, so enjoy it while you can

I will be there happily, absentee ballot seemed a good thing to do this year.....and I would rather be in the parks than checking out whats going on with things in that aspect during election time. Not like you won't know who wins, but I agree most people there are enjoying the escape from it all....:)

omg, my hubby just pointed out that we will be in Orlando on Nov 8th. Coming from Canada, what is it going to be like? Park impacting? Just stay at the resort? What about the fallout the day after?

Some of you may laugh, but my husband is a federal bank examiner and the bank he monitors has a business continuity plan specifically for the potential fall out of this election.

I'd be curious to learn what that plan is. I'm intrigued.

"Jersey Week" has more of an impact - many NJ schools will have off on Election Day, Veteran's Day (Friday), and the NJ Teacher's have a convention on Thursday-Friday, so almost all schools are closed - and many families will take a trip to WDW.

The Crowd Calendars have the numbers in the 5-8 range overall.

Nothings going to negatively impact your trip. Whoever gets voted in wont take over that day or immediately change policies that will impact the running of the parks. Theres always going to be some happy or sad guests walking around but I doubt they will be letting the results affect their Disney time. You may have comments being voices by guests around the Hall of Presidents because of the type of venue.

Exactly our experience! We were there in 2008 for the election that week etc and you wouldn't of known anything about it if you didn't put on the news. It was so nice to be in the bubble and not have to hear about politics. Lol

If anything, possible lower numbers of locals going to the parks due to them going out voting.

I think you are overestimating the give a crap factor of most of us. No matter who wins we expect it to be business as usual. Since the common consensus is that "both are evil" it will have the same impact either way. Those big mouthed, punch them in the nose folks will do their regular drink a beer, watch football, burp and misquote the constitution. They don't have the courage to do anything else. Besides, if it is close at all, which I doubt, it will be weeks in deciding like the good old days of Bush and Gore. Talk about your low hanging chads.

this has been a different election year all to gether. The post election atmosphere should be interesting. The only thing that could fuel civil unrest is if there is a clean sweep of the legislative and executive branches by one party. I fully expect that we will have the same makeup as we do now, just a different president from the Democrat side. If that is the case business as usual.

Election Day is not a holiday in the US the way it is in other countries, so no one is taking advantage of the kids being off from school.
