AAA preferred parking spots

I was thinking about purchasing a AAA membership before our trip in mid December. AAA told me that they have preferred parking spaces at each of the parks. Is anyone familiar with this or know how good these spots are?

Hey Gravy!

Those spaces are the AAA Diamond parking spaces and they are available ONLY to AAA members who purchase a Disney vacation package through AAA. When you receive your documents from AAA, there is a voucher that you must show when you pull up to park. Parking fees still apply (unless you are a resort guest, of course). Some blackout dates will also apply and they are listed clearly on the back of the voucher.

The parking spaces are quite close to the gates at Epcot, MGM, AK and the Transportation and Ticket Center. They are also first come, first served.

Glad to hear you are thinking of becoming a AAA member! There are many, MANY benefits to membership, not just preferred parking at Disney World!

Those parking spaces are very misleadng, we were told by a Disney representative that they are for AAA members as well and we used them a few times with no questions asked by the parking attendants for any type of documentation. It wasn't until we went to MGM that the parking attendant told us that they were for Diamond Club vacation packages only. They are great spots though but you pay a high premium for the Diamond club vacation.

We got the parking passes just for purchasing our tickets at AAA. :veryconfu

Its true... as long as you purchase at least a 5 or 6 day hopper pass from AAA, you can request for the Diamond Lot parking pass for your trip. But you must make sure you request the voucher... and it is only good in the calendar year that you purchase the tickets. Ours expires at the end of this year, but it was really awesome having that pass.
