A wasted Star Wars weekend....

As some of you may know I have been planning on attending Star Wars weekend since I first heard of its existance.

Havent been able to work it into our vacation plans yet becasue like everyone else we have to work around multiple schedules and It just hasnt been a possibility for us yet!!

WELL.....I got to see my favorite uncle over the weekend and we had a nice long talk about his lateset trip to Orlando to visit his Grandkids.

They decided to take them to Disney and by chance wound up at Hollywood studios a few weeks back for Star Wars weekends......................

THEY HATED IT SO MUCH THAT THEY LEFT EARLY.................I almost died.

Seems the Grandkids HATE Star Wars and got upset that with the crowds and waits and left just after 12p.m. and didnt get there until after 9.................

My Uncle said that he and his wife walked around for 3 hours saying..."Todd would LOVE this" ...It somehow made it even worse!!

Hundreds of dollars spent getting in the gates (6 people) and no parades No meet and greets no pictures almost No rides.................. I am Thoroughly depressed!!

We had our first SWW visit a little over a week ago on the final weekend, and I feel bad for people who show up not expecting it. If you love Star Wars (or even just "like" it, as we do) it's awesome, but if you go intending to do attractions, etc. it is not fun. Way too crowded.

It is well worth a visit at least once, particularly if you love SW. We almost didn't get to go due to the weather during our trip, but ended up tacking it onto the very last day and are SO glad we did it!

As part of our trip we made it down for the last day! Yes it was crazy busy but if you weren't doing the SWW stuff the park was quite manageable!!!!!!!!! The lines for the rides were no longer and in a few cases shorter for that time of year! We did camp out most of the night because we wanted the autographs, that being said with an 8am park opening they should have been there by 7:40 at the latest at that time of year!!!!!!! Planning is key to any Disney trip. It was a most magical and hectic day and I hope you get there for SWW soon! Hint when you do do not miss the Hoopla!!!!!!!!!!!

On our first trip with our DS we didn’t have a clue what Star Wars weekend was. A cast member in the Mercantile of the Wilderness Lodge told us about it. We also went to the front desk and got my DS a pamphlet that you could roll into a light saber. He told us to get there early. Next morning we got there for the rope drop, the look on my DS’ face when we saw a line of storm troopers was priceless. Hang in there it took us 3 try to get to see Illuminations, once my DW got sick after dinner and the next time it was my DS.

How sad. Hope the rest of your trip was better!

> Seems the Grandkids HATE Star Wars

They must be under the mistaken impression that those last three movies were Star Wars movies!

Hey, were there any Jar-Jar sightings during Star Wars weekend?

Hey my ds loves him
Well, since he was only inserted into those movies (obviously more specifically the first one), to try to "hook the kid demographic," I suppose Lucas succeeded, at least with your kid lol.

And I can totally understand someone not liking SWW if they werent a fan or even like me... I'm a "like it but Im certainly no super fan" type of SW fan. I wouldn't want to be at DHS those days. Way too crowded.
