I was browsing through Orlando-Rocks.com when I found this picture:

It seems that before there was Universal Express, there was Fast Track. If anyone knows more about this, let me know. My guess is that it was just Universal Express with a different name (perhaps they changed it because of the name resembeling FASTPASS). Or perhaps it was something different entirely.

From what I remember, you had to go to a little desk near the attraction where someone would give you a Fast Track ticket for later. Only a couple attractions used this system.

Around that same time, they also had Universal Express. This form of Express was a little card that was given to multi-day ticket holders that gave front of the line access to certain attractions for a couple hours in the morning.

Fast Track was available to all guests free of charge just as the Universal Express machines are free to all guests today.

The old Universal Express cards like the one I posted above were free to all multi-day ticket holders. I don't think single day guests could get them at all.
