A trip for later in the year question

Basing on the rumors and news as of late I'm reading on this site- is it possible in December that Dinosaur will be gone, Test Track refurbishment will be started and possibly more rides gone/down? Although Tiana should be open and most of Epcot construction finished?

Just trying to pick a good time for the family, but our window seems to be narrowing. Any best guesses?

It's really hard to predict what rides will be open or closed months in advance because of delays, etc in project planning. Go during the time of year that's best for your budget, weather that you like, and any special seasonal events. I really enjoy going in December because of the weather, the Christmas Party at MK, and Festival of the Holidays at Epcot. Last time I went in December, Epcot was a total mess because of construction but it didn't affect our trip too much beyond the inconvenience of walkways being blocked. There was still plenty to do.

Yes of course you are right. Something will always be closed or under construction.

We have gone in December past 4-5 years and maintenance of rides are rarely down that time of year for an extended period (we saw none down this past December - Splash was still being reimagined which is different from maintenance). That being said, Test Track will be closed starting in July for reimagining with an unknown reopening date (but that could be as much 12 months, who knows?). Dinoland reimagination date hasn't been announced yet though filing of a recent permit sounds like that is coming in the near future. The good news is Tiana will be open and Epcot construction will be completed. December is a beautiful time to be at WDW. I don't think you can go wrong with the beautiful Christmas decorations and music, Candlelight Processional, Mickey's Christmas Party etc. Do what you feel is right for you and your family.

We have been the last two Decembers I have to say it it the most magical time of year to go with the decorations, the Christmas party (all the cookies at the party) Epcot and all the decorations and celebrations from around the world. You can also try different festive foods from each country not to mention the festive drinks. We love going in December but do what is good for you and your family.
