Was very excited to get to go to DLP Sept. 2-5, 2013.
Stayed at Sequoia Lodge, Montana Room. Lodge was very nice, rooms were clean and good size, walking distance to the parks was great. Got to the parks aroung 7PM and found out Disneyland was open until 11, so we headed over and lucked out and got to see the final performance of Fantillusion, and the fireworks show. We liked the castle show so much we made sure we saw it again the next night, too.
Crowds were manageable, and the weather was fantastic. We managed to see and do everything we wanted in the 2-1/2 days we were there. Took advantage of the EMH the first day, and after discovering that the Studios didn't have EMH, rebooked our breakfast the 2nd day at a later time and took the opportunity to sleep in.
Enjoyed the different overlays of the classic rides, POC & Haunted Mansion. Really liked the Space Moutain layout, but both it and Indiana Jones are a little rough - keep your head back firmly in the headrest or you'll come out with a pretty good headache.
Absolutely loved, loved, loved Cineamagique and Animagique at the studios. Wish they could be brought to WDW, but I guess you really wouldn't everything to be the same in all the parks. And Crush's coaster was so much fun - unfortunately no fastpass for that one so we waited for over an hour, but it was worth it.
All in all, I'm really glad I got the chance to go. As usual, Disney does a pretty good job of making you forget where you are; I had to keep reminding myself that I was in FRANCE! The only thing that kind of takes away the magic is the park bus stop at the train station. We caught the bus from our resort that first night and were a little surprised and disorientated when we found that's where we got off. Not much signage to direct you on where to go; we just followed the crowd. Just walked from the resort the next 3 days.
Anyway, I can cross this one off my bucket list. I'm shooting for Disneylanp California next, then maybe Tokyo in 2014.
