A Ride By Any Other Name

So, one of the things I got in feedback a lot during the Imagineer 2, and something I've seen on the boards, is that the names of things weren't up to par. People saying, "Oh that's not unique enough" or, "We can do better than that."

I'd just like to point out, that while there may be better names, those names probably wouldn't fit in with WDI. They just opened The Silly Symphonies Swings today. Clearly they stick with simple names that plainly state what the ride is. So why is it, we on the boards are determined to come up with something else?

I don't know exactly what you are talking about, but the complaints I see are from the endless attractions with this formula:

{Subject of Attraction} + The Ride! = Substantial title for any attraction.

I mean, the list is endless. Could you imagine if some of the classics were named in this fashion?

Pinocchio - The Ride!
Alice at a Tea Party - The Ride!
Mine Train Gone Wrong - The Ride!
Pirates looting a Spanish Port - The Ride!
A Train Ride - The Ride!

The list could go on and on...

That is what Universal Studios does with its rides.

They don't need our help: they pay good money to marketing geniuses to come up with names like "Summer Nightastic." :hurl:
