a question for CM's..

I know there are a lot of cast members who frequent the forums so I would appreciate help with my question. My sister is a seasonal CM and she will be booking us a CM discounted room for February. The problem is her ID will expire at the end of the year and she will be out of FL most of January so she may not have time to work a shift before our trip in February. Will she still be able to check us in with her expired ID and get us the discount? She tried calling to find out and couldn't get a definite answer so I thought someone here could help. Thanks in advance!

I am not sure about using the ID at a resort, but another thing to consider is that she may not be able to get into the parks or let others into the parks on her Main Gate. Whenever I have brought family or friends into the park on my pass, I was always asked to show my Cast Memeber ID. Plus, even if she were to go by herself, if she encountered a problem with the biometrics or something else at the turnstile, the CMs would see that the ID had expired. According to the letter that I received with the 2008 sticker for my ID back when I was a part-time CM, the ID is not valid for backstage or main entrance entry into the parks after the first week or so in January without the new sticker. I know that seasonal CMs do not get a sticker in the mail and have to get one in person after an e-mail from one of their leaders is sent to Access Control. Perhaps she can check with her leaders to see if they can send that e-mail to Access Control to allow her to get a new sticker in January, before the 2008 one expires. After all, without it, she won't be able to come to work!

When I went back in December of 2007, my white ID had expired in September and I was going to start at Blizzard Beach in a matter of days. I did have shifts scheduled, and called my leader. She sent an email to Access Control in order for me to renew my ID.

I'm not sure if she can get her ID renewed if she doesn't have any shifts scheduled, but it's worth a shot. Since she last worked in May, I believe her ID and benefits should be good until this May, regardless of if she is working/scheduled to work a shift until May.

Let us know how it goes! Good luck!

She may want to call or email her local area leadership to make sure she is still employed with Disney. When I got back from working DCL, I tried to go back to my old position at the AS, but my manager informed me that they were cutting all seasonal CMs that hadn't worked in over 6 months. They just did not have any spots open at all.
