I would love to see the imagineers make this idea come to life. If they did, I can honestly say that my partner would gladly buy into DVC. As it is now, we have to overcome a major budget obstacle everytime we go to WDW, dog boarding. To give you an idea of why, let me paint our picture for you.
We have 5 Chihuahuas. We don't trust in home dog sitters. We don't have any friends that have the ability to care for our pack. Our little pack cost us over $185 a day to board. Yes, you read that right. Our local PetsHotel will be getting $1500 from us for our upcoming vacation and keeping them just 8 nights. They do a wonderful job caring for them, but for that price, most people would, especially since our dogs are well behaved, crate trained, and we bring their food because one of our dogs has food allergies. Basically, we are paying to have them walked and looked in on. They stay in two "suites" so that they have plenty of room.
If we had a pet friendly DVC resort, that would be heaven. We would stay longer at WDW and most likely spend more on stuff just because we would have the extra cash to blow on us instead of on the dogs.
Instead of having just a kids playground, there could be a frisbee park area, a social dog play area, heck, even an agility course area would be cool. There could be a special snack shop there with fresh baked pet snacks. Not to mention that for the cat lovers among us, there could be special units with the ultimate in cat climbing trees inside. I see so much possibility with this idea. Build it somewhere near where the new Best Friend's pet resort is supposed to be being built on property and I think we would have a winner!
Would you buy DVC if you could bring your 4 legged furry best friend along for a change?
