a/p dining

If I book a room only reservation using my annual pass, can I add the dining plan at any point up to my stay, or does dining have to be booked when I book the room?

It must be added before you arrive. I think the cut off is 3-4 days prior to arrival. Your room must also be booked using an AP discount or the AP annual offer which is full price. If you are booked using a general public discount, you will not be able to add the DDP.

Thanks. I booked using the A/P discount - but have not decided yet whether to do DDP or use our TiWL card and are coming up on 45 days. So you think as long as I add it about 10 days out, I should be fine?

You should be, but I have never tried that close. Quite honestly, unless you are planning a good number of character meals, the TiWL card will serve you better.

We have Tusker House b'fast, Sci-Fi lunch, Crystal Palace b'fast, BoG dinner, Hoop-De-Doo (not late show so TiWL won't help unless we change), 1900 b'fast, and 'Ohana. I haven't really done the math....TiWL may be the way to go (2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant)

It will be worth the time to do the math. Disney has really jacked up the prices of the character meals as of late. They are high enough to where the DDP might outperform TiWL.

Ok - just for anyone in the future that has the same questions I had and stumbles upon this thread:

I ran the numbers and with the list of tables service meals listed above (minus Tusker - going to cancel that one) - TiWL is the clear winner. It would cost over $900 for the 3 of us to get DDP for 7 nights.....adding up all of the meals above along with allocating $35.00 per quick service (total of 7 and we spend way less) and $15.00 a day for snacks (probably spend more - but would only get 1 per person per day on the DDP) - we would still be right at $750.00 - (I did not include gratuities since I would be leaving at least 18% regardless of wether it is automatically added by the TiWL card or I leave the cash).

Looks like it will be TiWL for us...
