i'm feeling a little low with all this news of Disney World growing even more with brand new attractions, like M:S and this Everest attraction... I cant be like most of u guys who can drive down like that and be there...

so... back to a happy note... do you think we'll ever see a Disney Land approach the UK shores???

and... just to let ure ideas go, what would u like too see if Disney came to England?

i'll tell u one thing, if it ever came to the UK, there would be Huge compertition with the other parks like the tussauds ones...

Hiya Cookie Monster,
Well, I don't know if you knew but Disneyland Paris was originally called Euro Disney and was designed to be built in England, several locations were considered, one location in Kent. However, due to politics, weather and competition it was designed to be built in Paris.
Unfortunately, I doubt you will ever see a park in the UK, for several reasons, Disneyland Paris relies on European visitors, including the UK, and by building one in the UK that would shut off a large market, plus would take off sales to WDW. So thats just a couple of reasons why it probably won't happen, sorry to rain on your parade.

Hope thats helped.

 have to start savin me pennies for WDW...

you have interested me in the fact that a Disney was going to come to the UK for like a millisecond :), I did have my doubts because of the one in Paris too...

I thought it would be cool, if they actually didn't build the usual trademark first park "Magic Kingdom", but actually created a brand new park, which then would open all doors... cus everyone in the UK would go... try it out and say "Hey what about Florida? that's got 4 major Disney parks and as well as the superb weather"

ah well...

Yes, they were considering it for a mili-second, but I assure you, that was all the time it was given. In response to your other point about there being a 'new icon' to a Disney park, I have some interesting facts for you.

Mr Tim Delaney who is a wonderful Imagineer is senior concept Designer and executive in charge of creative development. He was also in charge of Space Mountain for Disneyland Paris, which is the best of the Space Mountains, and is truly fantastic! And if you've never seen the programme the BBC made called 'Shoot For The Moon' all about Space Mountain and Imagineering, you've missed out and I should try and get you a copy. Anyways, Tim Delaney did suggest a COMPLETELY different new park icon for Paris, and if you have the Disney Imagineering book, behind the dreams at making the magic real, turn to page 78 and see his design which was designed to reflect the vast sci-fi culture and history of France, due to Jules Verne, who Tim is a big fan of. However, executives said no to Tim, and you can see why. Disney wanted a park in Europe that was instantly recognizable and that was a similar image to its American cousins but with just a couple of different touches here and there to make the Europeans feel special, which is why there was not another Cinderella castle in Paris rather a le chateau de le belle au dormont.

Hope thats been of help!

well there's only one, EuroDisney/DisneylandParis (the same park, 2 names!) and it used to be just the magic kingdom, but now there's Disney Studios (isn't there). i might be wrong though, its been a while since i went!

some of the rides are slightly different, like Space Mountain which has a loop in Paris.

i'll tell u one thing, if it ever came to the UK, there would be Huge compertition with the other parks like the tussauds ones...

Disney would beat the tussauds parks so easily, Chessington etc are just getting so out of date and really not much fun any more!

and by building one in the UK that would shut off a large market, plus would take off sales to WDW

hmm quite, there are so many Brits at WDW its crazy! think of all the chartered flights that ship thousands of us folks off to Orlando every summer!
