alright about two years ago my family and i visited animal kingdom and signed up for this test. We were to test out this gizmo ( i can't remember the name). NOw this was a great computer like thing. It was the size of two game boys and you could do almost everything on it. Get a fast pass wherever you were in the park, order reservations, had ride descriptions and hieght restrictions, wait times and games for kids to play with when they were waiting in line. Although they didn't have it at the time they said they would put instant message on it too so that you could keep in contact with other group members or family member in your party. Also somewhat like the new 100 year celebration pins. you could travel around and at any time a sound woul go off and you would recieve cool info. It was great. We recieved a free hat and 20 disney dollars. They also said that the product would be very cheap(10 dollars about) and you could rent it for your whole stay. since the gizmo was still in development i was just curiouse if anyone has any news on it or had the chance to test it out. It was awhile ago but it was such a great item to have. Thanx for any info!:)

I have heard of other people getting these things...but AK was as far as they got, and where they are now I am not sure. AK was chosen for the test because of its size...fewer attractions and less restaurants made it easier to test. I also heard other places were giving these out at certain restaurants in WDW.

If anyone has seen these recently anywhere please share the information.

It's part of a program that may surface in the next few years @ WDW... The Animal Kingdom was the first park to be "wired" for this wireless system... Ever walk around AK and see bamboo poles with little colored triangles, circles and squares on them? These are for this system... Basically the symbols are markers for buttons you can touch on your portable wireless terminal to obtain information about nearby attractions and animals in the case of AK... There's a whole lot more to the system, but that's another story... Hope this info helps... I also hope Disney continues to pursue this technology, it looks really cool!
