No new major attractions opened this year in past years since 2004 there was at least one major attraction, Tower (2004), Buzz, Space, 50th (2005) Monsters Inc(2006) Subs(2007) Midway Mania(2008). But there was plenty of prep work, construction and minor attraction openings.
So heres a look back at everything that happened at DLR this year, first part will be Jan- April and so on.
January 2009-

New central bakery construction continues
Grand California Hotel and Spa Expansion continues

-New Mickey floral replaces the YOAMD 2.0 floral
-its a small world holiday closes to return to normal with the new Characters
-Main Street repaving project halts all parades at DL for 3 months
-Big Thunder Trail gets repaving
-Celebration Roundup starts construction at Big Thunder Ranch
-Bibbity Bobbity Boutique starts conversion of Once Upon a Toy in FL
-Plaza Inn gets repainted
-Emporium Annex gets repainted
-Disney Clothiers gets a refurbishment
Disney's California Adventure-
-World of Color installation starts heavy construction and walls go up around Golden State Amphitheater
-Sun Wheel is still closed
-Games of the Boardwalk still closed
-Lucky Fortune Cookery gets walls as Cocina Cucamonga will move in.
-Mickey Ears start to come off Screamin
February 2009

-its a small world re-opens with new lighting, paint, flume, boats, exterior lighting, Disney characters and America room.

-Walls go up for new restrooms in Bay Area
March 2009

-Celebration Point open on Main Street(big envelope with balloons)
-Goofy's House gets repainted
-Disneyland the First 50 Magical Years closes on March 16, Updated Lincoln show will take over.
-Matterhorn's Tomorrowland side gets a minor refurbishment
-Mid March most of the Main Street repaving is completed
-Celebrate! A Street Party officially debuts at Disneyland
-Monorail Orange makes daytime test runs
-Big Thunder Trail repaving is completed
-Half of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opens
Disney's California Adventure-
-Bakery Tour gets a minor refurbishment
-DCA's construction walls get more decor added
-New Paradise Pier sign on Screamin
-King Triton's Carousel starts a standard refurbisnment
-Pacific Wharf bridge completes its refurbishment
April 2009
Disneyland-
-Pixie Hollow gets a large amount of walls
-All of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opens
-Celebration Ranch opens
-Popcorn Cart in the Hub moves just a bit to the left out of the walkway
-Summer Nightastic! Officaly announced
-Astro Orbitor starts refurbishment
-Former Cosmic Waves starts refurbishment
-Don Edgren and Rolly Crump are both honored with a window on Main Street. Both buildings also recived a refubishment prior to the window install.
Disney's California Adventure-
-Games of the Boardwalk reopen with brand new games, facades and a card system for play.
-DCA Food and Wine opened on April 24
-Mickey face appears on Sun Wheel as well as new Marquee now reading Mickey's Fun Wheel
