A great video game discovery....

So, for Chirstmas, I had been planning on getting my wife Donkey Konga for GameCube, but I saw something out of the corner of my eye at the local EB.

A game called "Taiko Drum Master". For those of you who don't know, a taiko is a Japanese drum, actually meaning "big, fat". Check out the Japan Pavilion in Epcot to see Matsuritsa, they play Taiko.

Anyways, it works in much the same way as Dance Dance Revolution. Circles move across the screen and you must hit the drum controller (yes, you get a drum and drumsticks) on th surface and edge with one or both sticks.

There are a bunch of popular and rock songs as well as classical and some originals.

You do not need to be a drummer to enjoy it (like us)...
If you are a drummer, you will love it...especially the VS mode where the two players actually play intertwined and split rhythms.

I don't work for the company, I just want to recommend this game for anyone who enjoys a unique game experience on PS2.

I read about this game online and thought it looked fun. Sounds great. Any news on if it will be/has been released on any other systems? I just have a PS2 and a Nintendo DS.

As far as I know it's only on the PS2.

Ah....I understand the confusion. I was saying Donkey Konga was on GC. Oh well, if you get this game let us know what you think. So far anyone who has been at our house has LOVED this game, and they are mostly NOT drummers.
