A few thoughts on my Mad Tea Party ride

I have come up with a few more thoughts on my Mad Tea Party ride in my Magic Kingdom theme park. First of all I was planning to have a stylized glass roof over the ride, to keep rain out but allow more sunlight in; to give it a "sunnier" and lighter look than WDW's ride! (WDW's Mad Tea Party ride has a WDW's has a dark, bumped car-like roof) In addition, I have been thinking about the ride's centerpiece. As many of us already know, Disneyland's has no roof nor centerpiece, and WDW's has a giant teapot as their centerpiece, with the Doormouse from Alice in Wonderland peeking out the top.

For my Mad Tea Party ride's centerpiece, I was considering a circular raised platform (to keep the centerpiece high enough for riders and guests in line to see easily without having to look down); on top of the platform will be figurines of Alice, Mad Hatter, and Marsh Hare at the Tea Party, along with dining furniture and props. On one of the edges of the platform/floor is the White Rabbit, apparently rushing in to the Tea Party, obviously late! :D

On the sides of the circular platform (above the ride's turntable and below the Tea Party scene on top), I thought about having painted drawings of some of the other characters from Alice In Wonderland; such as the Cheshire Cat, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the smoking catepillar (no clue what is name is!), and the Queen of Hearts.

Mad Tea Party can be found in Fantasyland, # 9 on my map, between Peter Pan's Flight and it's a small world:

If anyone has questions, comments, and/or suggestions, please feel free to post! :)

FYI- link doesnt work. I like the idea though especially having the sun coming through to give it a happy feeling.

The link should be working. I just tried it, and it worked fine! :animwink:

You're very creative! I like the roof idea; it sounds delightful.

Oh and a random thought--I think the reason that the teapot with the doormouse is the centerpiece is because the ride is supposed to give the feeling of being on top of the table, in the teacups(obviously). So naturally the teapot would be on top of the table, and would be large compared to the riders.

But your centerpiece sounds very cool as well.

As another random teacup ride idea, I think it would be funny if you were on a raised platform--more similiar to the table, and there were giant characters (statues, maybe even moving ones) standing/sitting around it, looking inwards twoards you as you spin helplessly around and around. Haha, then you'd get a feeling of what it's like to be the doormouse!

Actually, the reason for the platform was to place the centerpiece of Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Marsh Hare, and the White Rabbit at eye-level with the riders, so there would be no use for a raised platform for the riders.

Just thought I'd clear that up for you! :animwink:

I like the Mad Tea Party just the way it is. It's such a fun classic, and wouldn't be the same without the giant teapot in the middle.

This Mad Tea Party is NOT WDW's ride, it's the Mad Tea Party ride in the proposed Disney theme park I created here on the Imagineer forum. FYI, Disneyland's doesn't even have a centerpiece at all.

Just thought you'd like to know! :animwink:

lol...I already knew that. I was just expressing my opinion on the possibility of that ever happening on the actual ride at WDW. I knew what you were talking about was fake.
