A few questions for CMs, particularly FT CMs

Ok, I had a few questions about the hours per week for FT CMs.
First, Is there a limit to the amount of hours per week a cast member can get?
Next, can you request to be scheduled a lot of hours or is it limited to just picking up extra shifts?
and I think the last, on average how many hours do most cast members work per week?

i'm not FT, but I knew quite a few when I was down on my CP... and nobody else was answering!!!


Anyways, your hours mostly come down to first, whether it is a busy season or not, and second what department you work in. We FT people in entertainment that were working 80 hours a week during the holidays because they'd have trainings on top of their normal bids/cast....So there's really not a limit- Disney will work you as many hours as they're willing to pay you for- and the overtime, doubletime, etc. adds up quickly! I don't believe you can request to be scheduled more hours, so you just have to keep picking up the phone.... But it will different between each department, so there's really no blanket answer...

Basically what I saw is that the people who truly wanted/needed hours- and were willing to do a little extra work to get them, were able to-even if it meant using EHH to pick up shifts outside of their normal areas...

So the amt. of hours really depends on the department the person is working in, combined with the desire and willingness of the person to get more hours?
That's kinda what I figured, but I wanted to make sure anyway.

I'm considering the idea of moving down and starting off in Merchandise, and I would be very interested in getting as many hrs. as I could.....but I don't make decision like this easiliy:lol::brick:.....

BTW, what is EHH?

EHH is the extra hour system that most cast use to pick up shifts.

Merchandise typically has lots of shifts on the EHH, with the exception of "Slow" months (September and January, but in January, CPs are gone, so there are a few shifts). The WOD (World of Disney) usually has a TON of shifts posted.

When they need over time they welcome all who volunteer. You will not get extra hours if they don't need the help.
