So I've decided I'm not doing a trip report. This trip was wayyyyy too special and all together quite amazing and even though I'd like to write up a TR, I could never capture the wonderful magic that occurred during this trip. Even through the rain, heat, unexpected crowds, and strollers...my trip ended with me crying (not just a few tears, a freaking waterfall) on Main Street USA at 2am in my grandmother's arms because of how extraordinarily happy and blessed I am. No one could even capture those feelings virtually...but I will post a few pictures!
The sole purpose of this trip was to do the amazing Keys to the Kingdom tour. it was absolutely amazing. If you've never done it, do it. It's just totally unreal. It was our tourguide (Jordan)'s first real tour but you'd have thought he'd been giving tours since the park opened in 1971! (not that he was that old). It really opened my eyes to see what Disney is really about. That is why I have decided to log out of my WDW Magic account forever. There is too much negativity that I feel has drawn some magic away from my past few trips. I didn't open the forums once Thursday thru today (our trip) and I had such a better time not looking for things that were wrong, but looking at all the amazing things that make Disney what it is. I'll continue to watch the forums for News and updates but that's it. But enough of that...on with the rest of the trip!
We got there Thursday via Southwest. I always get confused getting to "B side, Level 1" but we made it! I don't like how long you sit on the DME bus before you actually make your way "home" but it's free so I'm not complaining.
Caribbean Beach resort is well themed and way too big! Busses weren't really an issue though it is annoying going through all the stops when going to a park. We stayed in Aruba and the room felt much lather than that of a value resort. There were three of us and we all got ready in time just fine everyday. Mouse-keeping was great and we got an Olaf wake up call! So cool! If you like to take walks or jog or run during you vacation, CBR is the place for you to stay!
There wasn't an opening show on May 2 because of the 7DMT dedication that morning. We saw a few Disney channel stars there.
Festival of Fantasy is wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. I just wish it were a little bit longer.
The mermaid details on PotC were removed I'm assuming during the refurb last week. It seemed brighter during our ride than normal.
IASW has lots of ceiling tiles missing but unless you look up you won't notice them.
Nearly all effects and animatronics were working in Splash Mt. even in the Laughin' Place. I was quite impressed!
Speaking of laughing, the laugh floor was HILARIOUS yesterday. I just really wish I could be "that guy" one of these days
Anna and Elsa waits were insane (as if I even needed to post this)
There were lots of cheerleading groups and high school band groups. People had said May had low crowds, but I felt like they were almost as insane as they are at Christmas. Seriously, that bad. There is no off season anymore.
I finally got to try Lefou's brew and once you get acquired with the taste it's really good!
I can see why everyone wants to go to Be Our Guest. The whole experience is phenomenal. It was our first time being able to meet Beast. We ate in the beautiful ballroom and the food was divine. Favorite meal on property so far. I had the chicken.
I like the interactive queue at BTMRR and I can't wait to see how the interactive elements will look in 7DMT.
Jungle Cruise jokes have seemed to be refreshed but we also had a brilliant skipper, Ryan!
I think the hub expansion will be a great investment on Disney's part.
Enough boring stuff...here's some pictures!
all right my wifi is being slow so I'll post more tomorrow!
goodnight!
