A few more revisions/additions to Magic Kingdom theme park

I have been thinking about making a few more revisions to my Magic Kingdom theme park. For one thing, I was thinking about adding Captain Hook's Pirate Ship, similar to the former Disneyland attraction. I was leaning a little more towards Fantasyland (where Disneyland's former Pirate Ship was located) over Adventureland (where DL Paris' Pirate Ship is found) for mine, since Fantasyland seems more "Neverland-like" (for lack of a better term!) than Adventureland to me, though my final location for Hook's Pirate Ship is certainly not set in stone now! :animwink:

I was also considering the Alice in Wonderland dark ride (currently only at Disneyland), since I wanted something to tell the story of all of Alice's adventures more (Mad Tea Party only focuses on 1 part of the story), and hedge maze attractions (like the one at Disneyland Paris) don't do very well in the U.S. in terms of attracting guests.

In addition to these additions, I was also planning to model the ride system of my Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride in Critter Country after Tokyo's, though the ride itself would be more like WDW and DL's (no guns like Tokyo's has, I think). Also, like Tokyo's, when Tigger bounces, the whole room shakes, not just the riders' cars like they do on WDW and DL's rides! :animwink:

Last but certainly not least, I was planning to take Cosmic Waves out of Discoveryland and thinking about adding a Mysteries of the Nautilus walk-through ship similar to the one at Disneyland Paris, stratling between Discoveryland and Fantasyland. I have cosidered a 20K Leagues ride as well, but that would be in my DisneySea park, using a "dry-wet" ride system similar to the Tokyo DisneySea ride. This is due to the fact that the "dry-wet" is less costly and requires less maintenance than the old submarine ride, as well as having better effects. Also, Disneyland will reopen its old Submarine Voyage ride sometime next year, which would give them an exclusive E-ticket ride for Disneyland to offer of their own. This way, I would provide guests with BOTH the experiences of the TDS 20K ride and that of a real submarine ship as well!

Please try to LMK what you think, since I really could use your feedback on this! I look forward to hearing from you! :)

I haven't heard any feedback about my other rides/attractions I mentioned earlier besides Pooh. Try to LMK what you think! :)

I am having second thoughts about my plans for 20K Leagues/Mysteries of the Nautilus. I had talked with several people online, and all of them felt this was redundant-- saying that I should take out Mysteries of the Nautilus when my DisneySea park opens, and replace it with something else. Part of my point of having Mysteries of the Nautilus was to have a real submarine to experience (in either a walk-through or ride), instead of a dark ride made to look like a submarine like Tokyo DisneySea's 20K ride; which seems fake to me! In fact, on the Tokyo Disneyland Resort Fan website, Chris (the webmaster) was quite disappointed by the fact that TDS's 20K ride was not an actual submarine ride, among othere things as well. Here is a link to his review of TokyoDisneySea's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: http://www.tdrfan.com/tds/mysterious_island/20000_leagues/index.htm

Therefore, I would more-than-likely come up with 20,000 Leagues sumbarine ride, much like the actual submarine ride formerly at WDW's Magic Kingdom and to reopen next year at Disneyland. To avoid many of the earlier problems (cost of constant mantainence, erosion, etc.), mine would be actually built for ease of mantainence/repair/refurbishing. If I recall correctly, Disneyland's new Submarine Voyage will be built this way, but I have no idea how they are doing this!

Also, my 20K ride would be powered by electricity, since one of the things that led to WDW's 20K demise was severe erosion caused by a fatal combination of water and diesel fuel! That is one of the reasons Disneyland's Submarine Voyage is reopening next year and WDW's was demolished, since Submarine Voyage used electricity to power theirs-- even though their ride had a lot of costly maintenance, but considerably less than WDW's ride!

As for its location, I'm not sure whether to put 20K Leagues in my Magic Kingdom or DisneySea park. I do know that when Long Beach DisneySea was being proposed in the early 1990's, a Mysterious Island was planned similar to Tokyo DisneySea's Mysterious Island, but no mention of 20K Leagues was made on Jim Hill Media.com's article, and Disneyland's Submarine Voyage was still going strong at the time. Here's a paragraph about Long Beach DisneySea's Mysterious Island for a Jim Hill Media.com article about the once-proposed theme park:

At Mysterious Island, guests would discover the lost City of Atlantis on a modern version of a Disneyland "E" Ticket. Children could follow clues to buried treasure on Pirate Island, while the more intrepid might dare to board Nemo's Lava Cruiser and careen suspended through dangerous caverns.

If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, please feel free to post, since I really could use your feedback! I look forward to hearing from you!

The Mysterious Island section in the Port Disney park i have in my WDW expansion will have both the nautilus walkthrough and a new take on 20k which will now be a motion simulator ride (thanks to Jim Hill). :)
