A few less shells launched in illuminations

I noticed in the celebration part they cut the amount of moarder shells they launch in half, instead of 4 at a time they launch 2. Is there a technical reason behind that or just another way to be cheap?

It is not likely that in this instance it was a cost-cutting measure, however, I cannot say whether or not a technical complication was involved. If during your viewing, there seemed to be a shortage of shells, there may have been a technical problem, as other shows seemed to not have this issue.​

For the past month or 2 they have been launching less shells, as of new years eve the shells have returned, hopefully it wasn't just for new years eve.

I did see one showing on YouTube where shells were obviously missing. But shows after that had them back, so...
