Do you think Disney should go ahead and start looking at other parts of the country to build theme parks in or stick with Florida or California? Personally, I'd love to have one built closer to home, but it wouldn't hurt me any if they just added onto their existing land in Florida.

Well in my opinion building in Cali is just stupid. They short on room over there as is. The Florida property has room for tons of expansion which is what Walt intended. I expect to see the WDW resprt expand for years and years and years to come. As for seeing a WDW resort in another part of the states....nahh I dont think so. The current parks would slowly but surely start to lose their specialness...and Disney's theme parks would turn into a six flags like experience.

I LOVE that new avatar, DisJosh! VERY creative idea and result!

I think they should stay where they are now...unless they see a very golden oppertunity somewhere...

I don't think disney should build elsewhere in the states...I need an excuse to go to Florida:) I mean...think about it...for the most part, all of the Six Flags are the same...so I don't have a reason to go to like...Six Flags Fiesta Texas...I just end up staying at home and going to our Six Flags. Rides are not as cool when 40 copies of them exist...

this has been discussed...

I believe that for along time Disney was looking to buy a large amount of land in Texas, probably for the rumored America park. As far as I know they never actually bought it.

in CA, they have already announced where they plan on building the third park, although whether it will open this decade is up for discussion.

I think WDW has virtually endless expansion left, they really don't need to go look for other building sites unless they want to. I do believe that further expansion will necessitate completion of an extended transportation system, because buses to/from 5 parks and 3 water parks, etc. etc. would be out of control!

si, si. in order for walt disney world to add on their needs to be an extending transportation inculding monorail. The traffic is terrible on Disney roads. they should make a monorail line to Orlando Airport even though i never been there. they should extend it to all parks and almost all resorts. Anyway, back to the topic. Disney shouldn't make other resorts in America but if they did i want it in Quonset Point. They shouldn't make parks around the world like in China but they're doing it anyway. France, Japan and two US parks. About the idea for Disney America. Go to my thread and click on the link. Tell you stuff about Virginia and the propose park and how it was supposed to be built by 1998.

Its probably best for them to just stay in California and Florida, but if they were going to build elsewhere, they should only build a Magic Kingdom.

I think that a another park off Disney property in CA and FL would take away people from them. Which might hurt Disney in the long run. So i think they shold not build any more parks and keep working on the one's they got.

i think they should stay in california and florida. plus, weather in other areas of the country aren't too good for a theme park. i mean, no one wants to ride splash mountain in the snow..

I think if they decide to build in other states, Disney will become more a novelty like Six Flags a less a vacation destination like it should be.
